Not only did the band blow just spectacularly badly, but the entire episode seemed to be constructed around name-dropping "Rooney" as often as possible.
Character #1, wearing Rooney shirt: "Hey, I heard Rooney's playing tonight? Wanna go?"
Character #2, standing next to Rooney poster, as Rooney song plays in background: "You mean Rooney? Man, I love Rooney. Rooney, Rooney, Rooney!"
(repeat fifteen more times before the first commercial break)
Heh, I thought Rooney were a made up band until people here said otherwise
