There is war in the middle east, strife in Africa and crime and poverty on the streets in the city in which I reside...oh and I got a new tivo!!!

Holy shit is this thing cool! It makes me want to actually go to work and make money to afford better cable. I just can't wait till they invent the technology which will allow the cable to be fed right into my brain!

Anyway, any other Tivo striken folks out there? (I know there was a tivo appreciation thread, but it's months old, so too bad!)

Funk,
Is that any different from when you press the fast forward button three times? On my model it looks as if it's skipping at 30 second increments.

One fast forward press is twice normal speed, two presses is 30 times normal speed, three presses is 60 times nomal speed. So three presses would be one second for every minute that goes by.

I've had TiVo since Feb 2000, I literally cannot watch TV without it.

In the "Now Playing" screen, press Sort, 0, Record, and Thumps Up. When you hear three bells it means it worked. It'll allow you to sort your recordings by name, date, or expiration. I like to have my shows ordered by name.

Ok, and slap me if I'm wrong, but that means by pressing fastforward twice you are actually skipping ahead 30 seconds?

I've both a TiVo and a ReplayTV...
Tivo is cool, but ReplayTV has a much
more user friendly interface. Don't get me
wrong, I do love my TiVo [It'll record HD broadcasts].
--TiVo reminds me of a PC compared to ReplayTV as
a Macintosh. They basically do the same things,
its how they go about doing them.

Just my two cents...
