After being acquitted of fondling a 13-year-old girl while dressed as Tigger, Michael Chartrand finds himself in trouble again, this time dressed as Goofy. He is being charged with assault after shoving two Kodak employees, who were also working at the Disney World theme park in Florida.

Chartrand returned to work at Disney in August after being suspended while the molestation charges were being investigated, and has been suspended again pending the resolution of these charges.

I doubt this defense will work very well, however:

Jeffrey Kaufman, Chartrand's attorney in the Tigger case, said the new claims were bogus.

"Goofy is always playful," Kaufman told the Orlando Sentinel. "Of course he was goofing around because he was Goofy!"

Chartrand's lawyer also claims that the charges were cooked up to give Disney a pretext to fire him, because they see him as a "liability."

Has anybody bothered to check this guy's crawlspace out? 9 out of 10 says the words "skeletal remains" might be used in future reports.

You know, if he was honestly molesting a young girl, then he's scum. But I was Bugs Bunny at Six Flags, and let me tell you that people forget there is a person in that costume who is sweating his balls off and can hardly see. I was grabbed, punched, pinched, and had my hand placed on breasts for quick snapshots. Not only that, the tourists are all over, grabbing you, pulling you, etc. And while all this is going on, they want you to "act the part" of the character, within undefined limits. It's easy to develop a bit of a temper. I'm not necessarily taking this guy's side, but I think a decent lawyer could make a great case for this guy's defense.

Check this out: Tigger in Court. He's wearing the bulky Tigger outfit to show how difficult it would be for him to consciously molest anyone in it.
