i could give a flying crap what shitty websites have been writing about this shitty film. point blank i was told this is going to be a hard R film. there is going to be a ton of monsters in this film, whether they are aliens or demons they are going to look like they do in the game. i saw the set of first person shooter sequence. it will happen

i'm not syaing this film will be good i just said everything you wrote is incorrect

I've just posted sources that show where I'm correct on several points, and you've shown no hands. If websites with interviews cant be counted on for "accuracy", some guy on a message board who says he spent A WHOLE DAY on the set cant really be counted as the be-all source of knowledge on the subject.

You were TOLD it's going to be an R. That may be what they want/think they'll get, but that doesnt mean anything either. It can be cut down to PG13, look at Cursed-that was originally NC-17, now it's PG13. Haute Tension, got an NC-17 rating and Lions Gate cut it down to R. Resident Evil was supposed to be a hard R, and it would have been PG13 if not for some tits. Monsters, tons of them-goodygoody, doesnt mean it's gory. There were tons of monsters in LotR getting sliced up, not an R there. As for being demons or aliens-yea, they may do the same thing/look similar, but the point is that it's NOT what they're about.

And by saying "demons OR aliens", you suggest that you dont know for a fact which they are-so you can hardly call me "wrong" on the PUBLISHED FACT straight from the WRITER AND DIRECTOR that they are mutants and aliens, not demons. Regardless of what they look like, a huge part of the Doom story/atmosphere is that it's Hell being unleashed, not some space plague that turns people into monsters.

And seriously, do you really think they'd also tell you point blank "Yea, it really has nothing to do with Doom except a few creatures look similar and it has the title."? They're going to tell you what they want the publicity to reflect because they know you're going to write it.

As said, I guess we'll have to wait and see-strange that there's no website, trailers, posters, anything for it yet. It's as if the studio knows that they've fucked Doom and people would realize it right away.....hmmm.

One, we havent seen anything you're claiming.

Two, I'm also pulling from Doug Jones' website also, where it's also confirmed that it's not about demons...and he plays a "Dr. Carmack Imp"? Certainly doesnt sound like something spawned from hell. Sounds like...an experiment gone wrong, or a mutation...

Three, more credit than those websites? That's debatable, but hey-they scored published interviews with the writer and director, but what the fuck would the writer/director know about the movie....they probably havent spent a whole day on the set as a publicity tool. They say it's about viruses and mutants, that there's no direct connection to hell...you say that's wrong....hey. Who am I to judge. surreal

You've done nothing to show that I'm "wrong" on any of the points I raised about the film, and the only one of those that cant be set in stone is the rating-and it's no secret there either that the studio desperately wants a PG13 rating.

Sorry man, neither of has resources to absolutely %100 PROVE anything until it's out, but at least I can point to things. As for being on the set for a day, again-they're going to tell you what they want to be told. If they could get away with telling you "Everyone who sees our movie will get free chocolate and $20 at the end!" and have you publish it, they would. They dont let people onto sets to become buddy-buddy, or because it's just so damned cool that they can't keep it to themselves.

Why make Doom!!!! Fuck that make a Duke Nukem movie!

Well, they already made a movie starring a gruff guy with a blond crew cut who fights ugly aliens and corrupt humans using ludicrously large guns. He wears jeans and a silly orange tank top. He's resourceful, cool as a cucumber, and smooth to the ladies.

In closing, do as I do. Watch the Fifth Element and pretend it's a Duke Nukem movie.

If you mean "credit" in the "credibility" sense (and context says you do), then I might mention that one of the worst ways to establish credibility is to yell "I have credibility!".

I cant believe we're fighting about the freakin' Doom movie! As far as I know it doesnt have "demons" per se. And it doesnt take place on Mars. But as long as it keeps the spirit of the game, and we get to see some shit blow up, aren't we all happy?

Lookit this....in an Interview with Empire Online, the Rock comments about transforming into the bad guy? Transforming? What, like from a mutation or a virus? Doom's villains weren't transformed/mutated humans. (sounds an awful lot like the Scorpion King again. ugh)

Here is a link to an article summary, and look! The first promo picture....showing a team of soldiers (looking much like the previously mentioned/referenced "intergalactic swat team") arriving on a planet that is very much NOT Mars at all.

The Rock still claiming that they aim for R, but the actors arent the authority; and the studio intention for a PG13 is as well documented as the plot. It's always entirely possible that it'll end up R by sheer luck-the Matrix sequels were supposed to be PG13, and the infamous "head kick" garnering an R rating....
