That looks WAY too funny. Wes Anderson comes off as a total prick in interviews, but he makes the most wonderful movies. I'm gonna be such a nerd about this and tell all my friends.

Killer. Wes Anderson might be my favorite active filmmaker, and Bill Murray is one of my favorite comedic actors. This one looks to have tons of potential, but I'm living in fear of the day Wes drops the ball, so I guess I'll reserve judgment.

The best part about any future Wes Anderson movies is going to be the casting. After seeing The Royal Tenenbaums I said to myself, "Holy shit, this guy is a visionary, and after this all he has to do is write a part, make one phone call, and he can have any actor in the world for anything." I don't care if Tom Hanks, Harrison Ford, and Sandra Bullock all got into a superhero origins-style industrial accident and their bodies were fused together, the resultant mutagenic superstar would still be knocking down Wes's door to take a measly $5 mil for a part in anything he to which he was attached.

Also, did Bill Murray fire his agent or something? Aside from Rushmore and the incredible Groundhog Day, the 90's weren't exactly kind to his career, but all of a sudden he's been in a few really, really good movies. Here's to hoping he's entered a more prolific and blessed period of his career.

Wes Anderson rocks; easily one of my favorite all time filmmakers (and Luke Wilson isn't given enough credit for his writing), but did anyone else notice the disturbing number of plainly obvious CGI effects? I hope he doesn't go Lucas on us.

I believe those CGI effects are placeholders for stop motion animation.

My read on it when I saw the trailer is as follows: the prevailing theme in Anderson's films is the concept of looking at things from the pov of a child. In the new film, the fantastic (as in fantasy, not awesome) look of the cgi creatures is more in line with how a child would think of them.

I love Wes Anderson and I cannot wait for this.

Oh I agree. Believe me, I'm not shitting on Goldblum; I absolutely love him like the day is long but you must admit he hasn't been in many movies as of late. This is basically God's way of saying, "Heather, I know I've deprived you of one of your childhood loves for far too long. Here, have him in Wes Anderson form!"
And God, I want you to know, I accept.

It looks to me like they're supposed to look fake and stylized. I think they add a surreal quality that I'm kind of into.

And if the poster who said they're going to be stop motion was right, that would be even more surreal.
