Is it normal to have tabs in the US? That's crazy.

You've obviously never seen a city centre in the UK on a Saturday night! Madness it is.

Yes- most bars and clubs do. Is it crazy?

I'd say it's completly bonkers.

Ask Anton about pots and schooners though. It's embarrassing asking for a pot of toohies new.

Tell me why that's so unheard of.

I say make a big enough scene next time so that you get kicked out.

I mean.... it's Ruby Tuesdays. It's not like you can't say "damnit, i'm never going to find another place as good as that."

just go in there, drink all the beers she owes you then run like fuck. You wont be able to go back but why drink in a place that screws you everytime you go there.
Even though its childish it'll make you feel much better.

That would work, except for one little thing... When running a tab, they generally charge your card a holding fee and hang onto the plastic until you settle up.

Not the case here. Very tempting, but if I do it I'll do a few tee hee's in as I'm running out.

ive never even heard of a bartender padding a tab. its supposed to be the other way around. then again, what can you expect drinking in a place like that. shame on you. find a real bar. ok, so they dont really have real bars in virginia. cross the river.

Question: you've gone to this place a few times right? Question: Do you tip well?

Cause I know "this girl and others" who work in a bar and if they know you are not gonna tip they will try and slide the extra drink or charge in so that they will at least make some money off of your meal/bar tab cause you tip shitty and they gotta tip out at the end of the night too..not saying that you do leave shitty tips or anything...just a thought.. smile

i used to think that there wasnt anything tackier than not tipping. i was wrong. not only are "this girl and others" scuzzy, but they arent that bright either.

If you went in to 99.9% of pubs in Australia and said 'put it on the tab' they would laugh and briefly consider beating you with sticks. No pub would trust Australians to drink and then remember to pay the tab. And if they did remember to pay the tab, they still wouldn't. They'd start a fight.

That is why I find the idea of tabs so funny.
