Ara Gabrielyan has taken stalking to an entirely new level.

Police said Gabrielyan attached a cellular phone to [his ex-girlfriend's] car on August 16 with a motion switch that turned on when the car moved, transmitting a signal each minute to a satellite. Information was then sent to a Web site that allowed Gabrielyan to monitor the woman's location.

Gabrielyan then showed up, unexpectantly, at places such as the book store and the airport.

The woman figured it out when she spotted Gabrielyan changing the cell phone's battery.

Previous to this, Gabrielyan spent a six-month period harassing her with murder and suicide threats. Police are holding him on $500,000 bail, and he faces up to six years in prison if convicted.

From now on when selling a phone with poor battery life I'll try to spin it as 'stalker-proofed'.

Yeah, me too. That's not as much romantic as much as deserving of an ass-kicking from every male member of her family. And the females, too.

I second that one. There is no line between creepy and romantic. That's just plain CREEPY!

As horrible as it sounds, I bet some Lifetime Network producer is looking to option the rights to this tale for a made for cable classic!

Potential Titles:
1) G.P.S. I Love You
2) Can You Hear Me Now
3) The Service Provider

Oh, as far as creepy and romantic go, it would have only been romantic if he wrote "I Love You" in blood on her mirror... Wait... That would be creepy as well....

The difference between clever and creepy....

Clever thinks up ways to do things like that, but realizes that they are wrong and juvenile and never acts on them.

Creepy steals the ideas from Clever and implements them then thinks that he (Creepy) should be called Clever instead.
