Favorite Video Game Endings

The various endings for Dead Or Alive 3 were decent and I've always liked the endings for the Castlevania series (something about seeing Dracula's castle crumble to the ground is so satisfying!)

What are your favorite endings?
And which ones were you disappointed in?

My favorite video game ending is still Phantasy Star 4 on the Sega Genesis. Possibly the first Dragon Warrior game on Nintendo.

I still get a kick out of the ending of Contra for the NES.

Megaman 2 was also good... and let's not forget Metroid. Good stuff.

Star Control II - The credits.
Loom - one of the unrecognized classics.

Bionic Commando. I'm pretty sure this was the first video game to have a curse word in it.

I rarely make it to the end. I usually loose intrest long before I get to the end

Ocarina of time. Though that game is my favorite everything.

Whenever the question of "Best________ in videogames" comes up the answer is always Final Fantasy III/VI. This is no exception.

Not a huge video game player, but anyone remember the end of Metroid when you found out it was a girls when she took her helmet off......that was BIG

ya finding out samus was a girl was crazy. I've noticed so many old game fans in here its great. My favourite endng all of all games though is the ending of The adventures of wonderboy 3 for sega master system.
Other endings that are decent newer game wise are the zeldas (64 and the cube)
And i liked the ending for halo

Fuck that noise, you spend your entire childhood trying to beat the game and it ends up being nothing more than Mario's wet dream?

My choice: Street Fighter 2.

Streets of Rage II - they all walk into the sunset to some of the most moving music ever. Aaaah.

Damn. Only the worst endings are coming to mind. Such as Brave Fencer Musashi, Silent Hill 3, The Suffering. Great games but lousy endings.

Worst ending experience ever: I beat Metal Gear Solid. The cinema goes on for 5 minutes, then my mom comes downstairs to yell at me for not doing chores or something. The cinema keeps going on for like 20 more minutes while she's yelling me. I'm not even defending myself, just going "Come back later! I want to see this!" Grr. Never beat it again.

i've never gotten to the end of a video game. i fucking suck.

final fantasy 7 made me cry I was getting my period though so was even more of a pussy as usual, especially that bit when RedXIII found out his dad was really a hero...fuck Im welling up again

Seriously, it got me through my first year in college.

most games have such disappointing endings. when i spend hours and hours beating a game, i want to see a decent ending, not a little 30 second long thing. that said, i think that most of the FF games and the first MGS have great, entertaining endings; MGS2 left a little to be desired, although that theme song always gets me. my favorite ever is ocarina of time; short, but really poignant.

Finaly Fantasy 3/6 is the right answer.

Chrono Trigger's special ending where you got to meet the staff who designed the game also deserves a mention.

Dragon Warrior 4 I also remember having a good ending.
