First, Lucas wrote nine movies, then three, then six--the man has never been able to make up his mind just how big the Star Wars universe was going to be when he began. But it's looking like Episode 3 won't be the last.

According to fan site Theforce.net, employees at Lucas's company Industrial Light and Magic have all been made to sign non-disclosure agreements to promise not to talk about the possibility of episode's seven, eight and nine being made.

That's surprising considering how many times he's stated that he just doesn't have three more Star Wars movies in him - and how insistent he is that nobody else take the reigns

George Lucas won't be happy with Star Wars until all the mysticism, myth, and iconography are completely stripped and replaced with farting gungans, kooky Wookies, and bad one liners by droids. Oh, and montages that look like love, but are empty and soul-less. Kind of like Lucas himself. If this takes 100 more films and 1000 special editions, he'll make it happen. But, hey. They're his. He can do whatever his plaid heart desires. wink

Just when you thought he completely bashed the whole thing into the ground and ruined everyone's childhood memories... Here he goes again!

Regarding Wookies, he would redeem himself if he made a 100% Wookie film! (NERD NOTE: Not like the Holiday Special, but something better).

I'm hoping that, after viewing Episodes Seven, Eight, and Nine, that Episodes One, Two, and Three will somehow suck less in comparison...

I think it would be cool if they started making movies about other characters and stories in the Star Wars universe - like maybe a Han Solo movie or a film based on Darth Maul...but then, I guess, that's what books are for.

I will copy and paste exactly what I said in the Star Wars group:

Blah... give me the ORIGINAL 4, 5, and 6 ON DVD and I'll be the happiest little nerd girl on the planet.

I don't even want to think about 7, 8, and 9... although there was a time when I would be pissing myself just thinking about it... that time has passed with my disappointment with the prequels, and the further adding of scenes to the original trilogy, etc. etc. etc...

Plus, I thought the point of the six episodes was to tell the story of the rise, fall and eventual redemption of Anakin Skywalker. After Anakin turns back to the light side that should be the end of the story, done and done.

'Blah... give me the ORIGINAL 4, 5, and 6 ON DVD and I'll be the happiest little nerd girl on the planet.'

Oh, we're getting it alright. With all the stupid new scenes added in for no god-damned reason at all.

Hey look, young Anakin Skywalker standing with old Obi-wan and old Yoda at the end of Return of the Jedi...

That makes perfect sense!

Wait...

No it doesn't.

Regarding the movies? Or are you talking about my method of thought, in general? biggrin

my problem with the prequels was that he took a 3 act play and turned into a 27 act play. that is my biggest problem, the whole cheesy angle, i can deal with to a cetain extent. there were certain cheesy aspects in the first set of trilogies

The bit Lucas is spinning now about how the Star Wars films are about the fall & redemption of Anakin... well, that's just his latest spin.

Back in the 70s, he said that his idea was that C-3PO and R2-D2 were really the central characters of all 9 films.

i have already seen the final three episodes.
you guys all are late.
anakin turns once again to the dark side after a brief bout with alocoholism ending in a bitter battle between he and yoda's flamboyantly homosexual nephew "yoga". princess amadala is resurrected at the same time anakin was, but for entirely unrelated reasons (this apparently had some symbolism, but i wasn't indie enough to catch it).
c3po ends up the king of all droids, and calls for the complete destruction of the human race. this is done quite well.
except they were unable to destroy a small race of men inhabiting many caves in a very poor country. these men rebelled and rebelled until their bearded leader turned himself in for a new haircut.
he was beheaded.
the final scene is a cute dance number obviously influenced by abba, and if you look carefully, you can see anakin hit his head on the doorway.

George Lucas may make Star Wars sequels. Great disturbance in Force felt, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror but were suddenly silenced

Pardon me while I whip out the Geek....

The SW Expanded Universe has already been completely written for several decades following the Battle of Endor (Return of the Jedi), including extensive novels and collections of short stories that have been officially 'adopted' into SW Canon.

If you're curious as to what happens next, and don't want to wait for a crapass movie to give you some lamer version, I can give you a timeline list of which ones start right after RoTJ, but I'd recommend skipping directly to the "Heir to the Empire" Trilogy if you're even slightly curious. Many of the others are "eh" and best. (which could still be considered holy word, compared to the shite that is the AoTC script.)
