I turn 25 in 3 weeks, my dillema:
So, my friend and I were eating at friendly's last night. We had a nice waitress and stuff, So we started up a conversation and the like. Talked about piercings, music, clubs, etc. And so, my friend, who I have known long enough that he sees right through me, tell me to hit on the waitress. He is all like, "dude, it is obvious. she like you, go for it. Stop being a pussy. Go for it." I break down and agree with him, I tell him if she turns out to be 18, I will go for it. So, I just flate out ask ,
"Are you 18?"
" Yeah"
"Cool,. becasue my friend is running a night (blah blah blah, small talk to find out if when she is working etc. He is running an ight btw)
Turns out she doesnt have an Email, AIM name, or cell phone/pager. So, I get her home phone number, and there wasnt any hesitation on her part,
Now, WTF do I do? The girl just graduated HS. Am I evil for actually considering to call her? (pleae note I myself am only mentally about 20 or 21)

Edited to add: I fucking knew I was right. She wasnt into me, Must go kill my friend when I see him.
I got a fake number. This sucks, becasue now iwill be embarressed whenever i go into friendly's

Most girls I know dated guys who were 7 or 8 years older then them. But then again, the girls I know...

What 18 year old doesn't have AIM or at least an email?

Don't ask me, I still try to hit on 17 year olds. I can't help it if I'm still attracted to high school guys, I feel like I haven't really gotten any older since then.

It's technically not illegal but is it wrong? I will vote....no.

One that dosn't have the internet at home.

I don't see anything wrong with flirting, or even hooking up with her. She's legal, she's old enough to make her own decisions. As long as shes mature enough to be one the same level as you, it should be fine.
The age difference is enough, however, that your friends have the right to mock you for it at any time.

I've always had much older boyfriends. Usually a 10 year age difference. I dunno, in retrospect, a couple were creepy, but others were genuinely good relationships.

Depends on you, depends on the girl.

There is nothing wrong. Unless you're asking her to wear school uniform.

I try to make it a point to stay within a 7 year age bracket when I date. From the looks of things, your in it so go for it if your serious about finding out if you 2 click. You'll never know if you don't try.

18 and 25 is completely fine, in my opinion. I've always dated older guys, as have most girls I know. When I was 18 I was dating a 35 year old! Though I agree with Sempi that no more than 7 years older or younger is probably best.

If you're both of the age of consent it's not a legal question...it's a moral question and it's not our morals that you should be worring about...it's yours. Do you feel it's wrong to hit on an 18 year old? If you are comfortable with it and she is comfortable with it...go forth and do your stuff.

The fact that you had to ask the questions shows that you may have some reservations, even if they are only slight.

The fact is, there is no magic switch that is thrown when you turn 18 that makes you emotionally more mature than someone who is 17 years & 364 days old. If this girl is what you are looking for and you are compatible as far as emotional maturity there's no reason to be worried.

I've always liked older guys. Sometimes much older. I wouldn't hesitate for a second if a hot 30-something year old dude asked me out.

I'm going through this dillema right now, except I'm the 18 year old girl, and he's 26.

He came into my store one day and we were talking, and he gave me his number and left. At this point, I didnt know how old this guy was and visa versa. I guess he thought I was 22, but he's still not seeing a problem with it. He's very succsessful (he owns half of the huanted houses in Salem... which is a pretty hefty amount). Next year, he'll own three more outside of Salem. He lives in a great condo and has an adorable dog.

I just think it's a bit odd... maybe it's because we don't have much in common except for our love of all things gore and such. His favorite band is the Cranberries for gods sake!

I guess if we had more in common in the music department, which is very important to me... and read every now and then, It would be okay.

Because of the age difference, I almost feel that there should be a lot in common, just so that I won't feel stranded. Him being this successful businessman doesn't help... I find it a bit intimidating, like I'll always be lagging behind.

For me, it's not going to work out. For the most part, I'd say my cut off is 23, unless they're absolutely amazing.

However, I'm not like a lot of girls in some ways... she might feel totally different about this, and it sounds like the two of you have a lot in common. Hopefully, things will work out for you guys. Best of luck smile
