If she never got off the couch, how did she get food? Did her family or someone else just throw food at her and LEAVE her like that? What the hell?

This is so sad and terrible. frown

the detectives in the story were questioning wheather or not it was a case of neglect? if anyone i knew sat in the same spot for more than 48 hours i'd be urging them to talk to someone, a therapist or someone.

When I lived down there, I saw on the news that a surgeon accidentally amputated the wrong leg from someone. After that major fuck-up, of course the leg that really needed to be amputated was removed also.

FUCKING DISGUSTING

I now ask the question. In a polite manner.

Can you not see that you would be packing on some major pounds?
Wouldnt you have the right sense to do something about it?

and what kinda fabric was the couch?

i'm guessing (and generalizing) the 600lb crowd doesn't really have the self-respect or motivation to "do something about it".

and yeah, i wondered what kind of fabric too.

Maybe she had some kind of medical condition before the weight gain that made her unable to get up/walk/stand. Sitting in one place for a very long time will cause anyone to gain weight.

I would assume that if she could have gotten off the couch, she would have. Duh. tongue

At 600 pounds, she would had to have had someone making serious food runs for her. Not to mention the job of emptying the "bucket" or whatever was being used for waste removal. So the neglect thing is hard to understand... Anyone have any theories?
