While Daleks will appear in the Dr. Who film (according to BoingBoing), the London film crew had a run in with anti-terrorist police near the House of Parlament.

One source says "Apparently there was some kind of flap over the last couple of days, where the crew on Doctor Who had been filming some scenes with River Police on the Thames and had somehow drifted into the area around the MI6 building and caused anti-terrorist police to be rather concerned! Apparently, the crew from Wales werent au fait with all the river regulations".

Dark Horizons has also posted a pic of Christopher Eccleston and Billie Pipper in costume for the film.

OK, first of all, Chris Eccleston has an amazing voice and unlike quite a number of Doctors past, can actually act. Secondly, thats not a movie, its a TV show. Finally, what the fuck are they doing on the Thames? Dr Who is supposed to be shot in somebody's closet against foamcore sets or in a field somewhere. What happened, did the Teletubbies have first dibs?

OK, I'm digging all this news about new Dr. Who, but that' CAN'T be the Doctor's costume! His style usually harkens from the Edwardian or even Victorian age. I just hope in this pic, the Doctor is trying to go incognito, blending into the crowd or something.

i always thought the doctor could date whoever he wanted. even himself.

seriously, i thought rowan atkinson was the best doctor who--ever--even if it was only for 30 or 40 minutes.

The costume is a leather jacket over a v necked t, with black trous and docs. The jacket is really battered, old thrift shop style, and as such kinda looks like an updated version of Pat Troughton's tramp look. The more I see it the more I like it.

That's Billie Piper. She had a brief pop career at the end of the '90s and it looks like she's clawing back some fame.

This is Dr. Who, not Kenneth Cole.

Hasn't anyone learned from past Dr. Who "revivals" that as kitschy as some of the old stuff was that's what people want.

But I would appreciate seeing a modern Tardis of sorts. Would be funny to see an SUV used as a Tardis. Or something from IKEA.

Dr. Who looses all of it's charm when it sheds it's sense of humor.

This is great.

"I can't believe they changed the Doctor's JACKET! Don't they know that fans want classic Doctor Who?? PS - let's trade his old police box for a sporty new Ford."
