Has anyone used cheaptickets or hotwire or Expedia?
I am trying to plan a trip. The best deal so far was with Expedia. So I was just wondering if anyone else has used any of these to plan a trip. ANd if so did you have any problems? Tell me anything and everything that I should know before I give them my info to book it. I really don't want to get screwed on anything.
those sites work very well actually, i use them everytime i travel actually.
i have never had any problems whatsoever, and they are more than reliable.
i bought tickets through cheap tickets the other day and i still haven't heard anything on the status of the tickets....i guess we'll see what happens. they did send the confirmation right away and i believe i have used it for a trip before but it was an e-ticket and there were no problems at all.
I always use one of those discount sites and I've never had trouble of any kind. I don't travel much, but enough to have used all the big cheapy sites.
I just used travelocity to get a really good deal for 3 people and a hotel room for 5 days on a flight from NYC to San Diego. (It only cost like 499$ a person)
I just got back from the return flight home and there were no problems, (I flew united airlines) actually it is really quite fast - you just bring the printed reciept and they check your ID when they take your luggage and print your tickets right at the baggage check in.
using it for flights is good, but i found that most of the time, the sites really weren't that competitive when it came to hotel booking. i found that for the most part, after the special fees and taxes and so on and so on, they actually come out equal to what the hotel charges themselves. in a couple cases, i actually called the hotel and got a cheaper rate from the hotel than from the expedia type websites.
basically, just always check and double check. comparison shop. just like everything else.

Hmmm thats a good idea. I guess I need to check on the hotel cause I usually get a military discount at the hotel. No military discount on Expedia
For flights try Qxio. It's always been the best for me. They give you the best prices. The trouble with Hotwire and Priceline is they don't let you chose specific times to get the best deal on flights and as far as hotels, hotwire won't tell you the name of the place until you've actually paid. Expedia, Travelocity, Orbitz and Travelworm have never wronged me. I travel A LOT.
When i travel within the states i usually just book my tickets through whatever airline i fly with (usually jet blue). but i did use expedia for my UK trip last year and had no problems with that. I also used Travelocity for my trip to south africa with no issues.
most of these sites are pretty reliable....the ONLY HUGE problem you'll have is if you need to change anything, then be prepared to have a migraine headache...so make sure you get all your shit straight the first time around.
