SAW

I thought it was exceedingly mediocre. Not bad, but not particularly good. Some of the acting was pretty terrible, and the characters couldn't have been more 1 dimensional. Very disappointing.

It's not that it sucks, it's just that you'd get more satisfaction staying home and watching Seven for the 13,201st time.

That's almost exactly what the reviews I've read say

Exactly. It was like Seven without the good acting or good writing, and with an editor who really, really, really liked unnecessary camera tricks.

Visually interesting, but the plot, writing, acting and editing left much to be desired.

yeah, the head trap, the razor wire, the pig mask stalker... these were all great things about saw. the scene with the camera flash was fucking incredible and original and scary as hell.

but I felt cheated by the twist ending-- I mean, at least give us a fucking chance to figure it out-- and, well, it might have been a little scarier if the entire theater hadn't been laughing at cary elwes's horrible acting. also, all the MTV style direction at the end felt very much out of place to me, and really took me out of the movie and ruined the feel.
