George Eads, who plays Nick Stokes in on the CBS program CSI, says that he wasn't staging a salary holdout but overslept on the first day of shooting.

"They think it's about money and it's not," Eads said. "I overslept. ... I woke up white as a sheet 3 1/2 hours after I was supposed to be on the set."

He called in, said he was on his way and was told, "Don't bother," Eads said. The Texas native compared himself to a football star who makes a similar error.

"It's like I'm the quarterback with the Dallas Cowboys and I overslept the first day of practice," he said. "I'd expect the coach to have me run hills and run wind sprints until the sun goes down, not you know, completely fire me."

Let this serve as a warning to all those that sleep past your alarm clock: even TV stars have been fired for staying up too late the night before!

If ratings drop as a result the the warning will be to producers...the jury is still out.

I think it was a mistake to fire him, even if it was a walkout. Just say "No, now get back to work". If at that point he had refused, fine go for the axe.

Now, what's her name, plays Sara Sidle, I've personally been not so secretly hoping her character would take a bullet to the chest for a while now...

I will laugh if the ratings go down and the show is cancelled all because this guy went out drinking one night.

He'd be better than Nicholas Cage.

Thank God that Idea got scrapped.

They've lost two of the main characters, one of whom was just involved in a major plot at the end of last season... Yeah... ratings will go down. Hopefully all gets worked out.

Oh, and Cage as Superman = puke puke puke

Personally I had a hard time with his proportions anyway... he's a very short man and has a large head. Next time look at his tiny shoulders and short arms... it's very odd...

Unlike most other actors working, you mean? wink

Trust me: despite PR to the contrary, the majority of the well-known guys who induce the drool have the same inseam as Prince. Colin Farrell? A midget with a big head. Tom Cruise, 5' 10"? Hah! I see him at Wild Oats in Santa Monica every so often buying produce and he's at least three inches shorter than me (I'm 5' 10").

It's a fun game, play at home! smile

Would not happen, sinc, to me, he is a minor character that can be replaced. I so am not impressed with him.
I personally hope they move greg out of the lab into his spot.
and besides that they still have Gary Dourdan and William L Patterson
so no way will the show ever go down because of these two characters.

I ,too, have been secretly hoping Sara would bite it.

If you take your job seriously you come to work on time every fucking day.

Of course this is coming from the queen of prompt. If I'm not at my work 10 minutes early they start calling to make sure that I'm okay. Seriously.

In all actuality, just one person being late can actually cost a lot of money. If you consider all the people that are waiting for them, and i am not talking about the other actors. actors get paid shit. I am talking about all the tech people, those union guys cost alot of money and you make them stand around longer than they are supposed to the producers get mad. plus.. working in educational theatre, we try and teach the students early that you show up when your call time is or else because you are easily replaceble. I hope this teaches alot of young actors not to fuck around. who knows maybe he had a history of being late. and 3 1/2 after call is a long time, at least he called though

I actually discovered this at Madame Tusseaud's wax museum in Vegas... I'm 5'10" but usually wear some pretty big shoes... Arnold was TINY!!!! I couldn't believe how little most were... but an interesting thing is that Wayne Newton is
huge.

that's dumb. i think the director was just having a bad day and needed to take it out on someone. i mean, i can see if he was habitually late. it's not like he's the star of the show or anything. but still, that's dumb.

I'm sure there were other reasons too. I know I can't show up three hours late... can you?

Eads and "CSI" co-star Jorja Fox (news) were dumped by CBS last week after failing to show up for the start of production on the upcoming fifth season. The network said they had demanded raises beyond their contracts.

woke up late my ass! they bluffed trying to get more money than what they were worth and the studio called them on it. i might have believed his story but they BOTH failed to show up to work on the same day. there's no way that he just overslept. now he's just trying to crawl his way back on to a show that he thought he was better than. sounds like he got a case of the "Chrissy Snow Syndrome"
