but as for the third one there are sooooo many rumors its not funny but I do know this.. Bryan Singer (the director) has stated in the past that there are two characters he will never use. 1) Apocalypse... because the story is just too far out and he wants to make this as believable as possible. (to which I respond.. well get off your lazy fucking ass and get creative.. x-men evolution made it pretty believable) 2) Gambit... I believe he said that he thought gambit was too much of a combination of Wolverine and Cyclops that since those characters are already there Gambit is un-necessary. I personally don't think that Mr. Singer has read an X-men comic.

Listen to Singers commentary on the 2nd film in which he states that Gambit is a background character and should be in the next film. He has read a shit load of the comics and watched the entire animated series as well.

To add to that, I believe I heard that Singer is taking over the writing duties on the Ultimate X-Men comic for Marvel.

To which I say...hello foot meet mouth.

okay so ya got me ... I hadn't seen the commentary and blah blah blah ... as a fan of the x-men Im glad that Im wrong, and its not like you've never been wrong about anything.

I'm a woman, when are we ever wrong? Better yet ask yourself this, when we are wrong do we admit it? No. Therefore, because I never admit to being wrong I have never, to my knowledge, been wrong. tongue

Seriously, though it was a joke, I have moments like that all the time. You can't tell me you didn't expect to catch some shit after those other two posts.

Okay, this is perfect timing, I've got a question that pertains directly to what the rest of you have been discussing. But first...

I had a luke warm reaction to the first movie, so I didn't see the second one until it hit cable. But when I did watch it I was quite pleased; I think it is a much better movie than the first one. I've now watched XMen2 several times and have caught bits of it a bunch of times -- especially the ending.

Does anybody else join me in thinking there is a real strong clue at the end of the second movie? I've watched it several times and feel pretty certain of what I saw.

At the very end, just before the credits roll, there is a wide shot of the busted dam and the flooded valley. The camera is zipping along the surface of the water in the direction of the dam and then, just before the credits, there is a reflection on the surface of the water...

Is it the reflection of a winged man flying above the flooded valley?

I saw this and immediately thought that it meant that Angel was going to be in the third film.

Am I the only one who saw this? Or thought I saw it?

Yes, you are the only one. See, everyone else saw a flaming bird flying under the water. Has everyone forgotten about Phoenix? Sure, I suppose they could skip right over that thread and move into a plot about sentinals, but at some point they have to come back to Jean Grey's transformation into the Phoenix and put that story on film.

They have totally set the stage for Sentials and hopefully Apocolypse will make a debut wo0t!

Gambit is by far one of my favorates, and Rouge totally has to kill the chick who can fly and has super strength so she can do it just like the cartoons!

As for Jean aka. The Phoenix it will be interesting to see what they do with her.

Lets hope it gets better and doesnt go the way Spiderman 2 did blackeyed

ok here is another site that has some more info on along with some quotes and some bad editing or wardrobe errors, just for shits and giggles.. side note on the apocalypse bit i remember reading or hearing something along the lines of them keeping APOC>>> out of the movie franchise for the sake of time, money and other factors. if i find the original of where i heard or read that info i'll post it as well. and yes i have a feeling that the pheonix will be in the third one but thas a given, just from the clues given in X2, the clues given if you missed it 1 when storm and jean go to get nightcrawler she has a pheonix on the back of her jacket, 2 the bird shadow in the water, and 3 after scott and logan leave before class actually starts professor X has a rather odd look on his face as he looks out the window then smiles like he knows something no one else does,. so yea i feel its a strong possiblity. but i'm curious about the other possible hints
