Green Lantern lends itself to comedy. The character's weakness is yellow -- you could fend him off with post-it notes and lemonade. Shit, hit him with a cab and it's all over.
I dunno.... maybe if they had a few of the Green Lanterns in it, and Jack Black provided the comedy relief, it'd be ok... but simply doing a comedy version of it would, in my opinion, suck. Why not give him an already shite character to mess around with? Silver Surfer maybe?

Well, he DID have a weakness to yellow. In fact, there used to be a GL villian by the name of Goldface who had no powers other than some gold spraypaint with which to fuck with GL. Did a decent job, too.....till GL dropped some really heavy stuff on him.
HOWEVER, they removed that weakness several years ago when they brought in the new GL, made him the last one in the galaxy, etc, etc.....and his constructs got really awesome, because this GL was an illustrator of some sort.
Back on topic.....maybe this movie (if it's for real) involves the entire Green Lantern Corps? And Jack Black is only one member? That might work. Maybe. *sigh* i'm tricking myself, right?

this pisses me off GREEN LANTERN is not a zany comedy, and for some cum monkey marketing exec. to drag this great title through the shit is upsetting. i hope it flops ( even though i love jack black) im mean really flops like van helsing some ones gonna lose their job flop.
