top ten reasons i love letterman:

Letterman's Top Ten List: Top Ten George W. Bush Complaints About "Fahrenheit 9/11":

10. That actor who played the President was totally unconvincing

9. It oversimplified the way I stole the election

8. Too many of them fancy college-boy words

7. If Michael Moore had waited a few months, he could have included the part where I get him deported

6. Didn't have one of them hilarious monkeys who smoke cigarettes and gives people the finger

5. Of all Michael Moore's accusations, only 97% are true

4. Not sure - - I passed out after a piece of popcorn lodged in my windpipe

3. Where the hell was Spider-man?

2. Couldn't hear most of the movie over Cheney's foul mouth

1. I thought this was supposed to be about dodgeball

I honestly don't think I've agreed with any post of yours Ive ever read. Not one. Not that there is anything wrong with differing oppinions, I was just kind of impressed at your dedication to posing the antithesis of my views. Well done.

You've just described every talk show since Steve Allen hosted the Tonight Show back in the 50s.

Letterman at his most boring is 10 times funnier than Leno will ever be. You really dislike him because he rips on Bush all the time.

Conan is great, but more for the writing, which has suffered recently. Conan himself is pretty hit or miss and falls back on the same few reactions to everything.

Kilborne is a smarmy, misogynistic frat boy, but I guess those people need something to watch too.

Jimmy Kimmel is great. His show is fun to watch, because they take all the standard talk show boredom and deconstruct it. I love Uncle Frank and Cousin Sal. It's like someone in your family getting a talk show.

John Stewart is what Dennis Miller used to be, without the attitude. It's not a talk show though.

Carson Daly is a massive tool.

Did anyone catch the other night when he let out a HUGE belch in the middle of a sentence? It was great. It just rolled out and there was nothing he could do about it. His reaction was classic Dave.

it took a lot of research....

I used to be a big Letterman fan - i guess about 15 years ago - but it was fresh and innovative then. I still have a video tape of David letting a chimp with a lightweight camera roam around the audience, rigging etc. I was hilarious to see the trouble it wreaked (and to see Dave offer its water to an unaware Dr. Ruth).

The top 10 & letters were good too.

Back then the show was natural.

now its on steroids and life support

Dave also once did a show where the picture gradually rotated in 360 degrees throughout the broadcast ...

They just can't do that type of shit at 11:30.

Watch Dave.
Watch Leno.

There is no comparison.
