I think the best toy of the 80's was sit and spin. Brilliant invention. I used to spin myself dizzy for hours on the living room floor.

Begun in the '70s, but if you go by high water mark:

one of my friends found one at goodwill, for $4. he wears it a lot. mine's up in the attic somewhere.

there were so many cool toys in the 80's, it's hard to pick one that sticks out in my mind.
