Yeah. You guys rock for enjoying Alien.

Alien is a better movie than Aliens. Aliens was a great action movie... Alien was a movie that took a standard haunted house story and created a look, a universe, that defined every sci-fi and monster movie since it. Sci-fi movies, monster movies, and horror/slasher movies were forced to be compared to it. The strongest cast and performances of all of them, great art direction, great sound.

While I personally didn't like the stupid alien queen in Aliens (because it fucked up the continuity set up by the first one), that movie probably has the most single quotable lines of all time. But, only a great action movie. Not classic film, like the first.

Oh, that innocent, forgotten age, when people were anticipating AvP. A time before they knew to their horror and dismay that it was in fact an unmitigated disaster. A movie of epic stupidity, terrible acting, lame script, and lousy SFX. A movie which I strongly suspect has simultaneously killed not one but two wonderful franchises. A movie worse than Alien: Resurrection.
