Alright, Yea, Im a dork, whatevah, goahead in insult, but dont insult if ye dont got a damn helping word too...

I got a Mohawk, big suprize, thing is Its only ever been a small hawk...Im looking to grow it out, looking in future for at LEAST 2 foot long...

MY problem: I can not seem to keep my mohawk up anymore..... my former method was to use ICE SPIKER, realy good stuff for when the hawk was short, but the longer it got the more spiker i needed and the less it worked....now i cant get anything but a good group of palmtrees on my head....

So what do you people use to put the hawks up, and how long dose it take...

Big question, What is your style typs for the hawk, how long you go without washing yer hair, how often you need to respike it, how you get all of it up without the shitty droop inj the back.

I dont know what method you are using, but all I ever needed to get good spikes or some thing like it was some good hair spray (Rave, Aussie) and use a hair drier. Spray the hair, position it with one hand and dry it with the other. Works like magic, for me at least. See...

The only reason it's 'droopy' is cause thats how I styled it.

As for not washing my hair...7 months was the longest Ive gone, but that was back in the dread lock days. smile

Edited to say, yeah, its not a mohawk, but spikes are spikes. tongue

Yeah, use AquaNet, or if you're looking for something that will stay up for a long time I recommend really thick knox gelatin. I put about six packets in a half cup of water. Sure, it smells like wet dogs, but it'll hold your hair up and doesn't dissolve unless you run hot water on it for a long time.

All my friends that have the 'hawks swear by Elmer's Glue. That or some form of animal-friendly gelatin, but i cannot name specifics.

That should last for awhile, judging by the people i know. And when washing it, a Coke is the best bet, to eat a lot of the shit out of your hair. Then wash normally.

Sorry i couldn't be of more help.....but i usually stick to the pomp when doing my hair up. :/

My hubby always just used to use any old hairspray, spray the section then dry the shit out of it with a hairdryer and that used to stay pretty rigid for a couple of days, he never bothered with glue or gel, this is him at our wedding looking damn clean cut and decorated with balloons. He chopped it all off though which is good,I wanna be the one spending the most time doing my hair in the morning

please oh please, don't be the guy that puts out people's eyes at the show with your two foot long spikes. I hate those guys. Mostly out of jealousy because I'm not allowed to grow my hair out that long.

I use Elmer's glue right now. It works alright. Hairspray works too but I don't have a hair dryer so it just doesn't hold on its own.

That'll usually attract tons of bugs if you leave it in for more than one day... plain white non-toxic school glue is the way to go... you can leave it in as long as you want (even sleep on it!) and it's pretty easy to touch up.

mowhawks are lame and not punk rock AT all.
however, in my less experienced days this would make me all the day with my 'hawk up

sounds weird but it worked.
and then a coat of generic hairspray afterwards. i knew people that used elmers glue but that is more trouble than its worth. this shit washes out with shampoo

There are vegan marshmellows, so it does exist. Probably not anything like the real stuff though.

but now thanks to the fact that i am the smartest man in the world, you can cry into your mowhawk instead of a pillow or stuffed animal.
