i always hear the tune from afar, like the saccharine siren's song that it is. but hunting for a icecream truck while driving is kinda not the point. not that i haven't tried... oink

In my old neighborhood my Ice Cream Man used to work late into the night (usually up until 1 am) and he looked like Easy E, baseball cap and all

This truck looks like a weak attempt to disguise a molester van as an ice cream truck. I wouldn't let my kids within a hundred yards of this thing.

Edited to say that I'm not commenting on the guy, just the truck.

The one that comes around here plays the old Star Wars Cantina theme, so I can live with that.

I don't really like IceCream trucks either. When I was 6 and lived in San Diego I almost got hit by a car because I was running towards the icecream truck.

Pearline: Can't you understand what he's saying?
Ghost Dog: No, I don't understand him. I don't speak French, only English. I never understand a word he says.
Pearline: And that's your best friend?
Ghost Dog: Yeah.

But the scene after that was so sad. frown

My mum knew a creepy ice cream van driver who would visit the industrial estate where she used to work. He had the open shirt avec bushy chest hair and the big gold medallion. Very 80's. When she (or anyone vaguely female) approached the van he would always grin and say, in broken English:

"I give-a you a big one, I make-a you happy". eeek

Ice cream men may be freakazoids, but nothing beats the bittersweet image of an ice cream van driving in the rain. It makes my dark little heart glad. skull
