Okay. So there's this girl that I like...

Well, it's a little bit more serious than that. Every time we're close everyone else's hair stands on end from the sudden rise in elecricity in the atmosphere. But due to one thing and another nothing's happening yet.

It's her birthday on Thursday and I want to get her a gift.but everything seems to suck. The best I've managed to come up with so far is an 'adopt a tiger' certificate but that sucks because I don't know if she'd really dig quasi owning a tiger.

So what should I get her? I want something small enough that it just says 'small gift' but impressive enough to say 'this guy will be the best thing that ever happened to you'.

Please help.

Thanks.

You could name a star after her. Just an idea. And it gives you an excuse to hang out in the dark. Imagine the possibilities.

That's so 5 years ago biggrin I know a bunch of guys that used to do that, it was funny cause once the novelty wears off you realize you're stuck with an $80 piece of paper.

it is pretty much since NASA and whatever the official astrometrical office is called aren't going to change star NG-08089-FA to Susan just because some guy buys it for his girl.

It's a little hard to pick something, not knowing the girl. What is she into?

i don't really think it's ever a good idea to suprise people with animals, if they don't like it or are reluctant it's the animals that suffer.

I was surprised with a cat. I was still living at home too, so really my parents, my brother and I were surprised with a cat. We love her, but it was a really bad idea.

Fish, on the other hand, aren't as terrible an idea. It's cute, for sure.

Girly things. What makes it difficult is that if we were together it would be easy. I can think of dozens of things she'd like. But we're not together. I'm trying to get a charming gift that says:

"Hey. It's me. The guy who when we touch things nearby burst into flame. You're not talking to me right now for understandable reasons to do with your past experiences but I am yours all day every day whether you know it or not and I can't let you get away without trying to get with you at every available opportunity."

That''s a tough buy.

I'm saying, tell us what you would buy if you were together and it might give one of us a new, inexpensive idea that would work.

Go to McDonalds and buy two McHappy meals...then when she least expects it you give her your toy.

Its cheap, cute and its fun...I'm sure she will share it with you. smile

The solution has been arrived at.

A birthday card with puppies on and a cute cuddly monkey toy (to remind her of me, a big cuddly monkey non-toy).

I feel better now.

Guys who buy me stuffed animals show a distinct lack of understanding for what makes a good gift. I hope she likes it.

I would have bought tickets to a show or something. Find out from her friends music she likes. Man...dont do the stuffed animal, flowers, or card thing. Clara is right about that. That's not a birthday gift, that's a "I got this for you from the store just because" gift. That's when those are appreciated. Bringing her a bottle of her favorite wine or alcohol and a video rental gift certificate or punch card would be far better and that could work in your favor.
