i'm talking to one of my friends online right now who has this thing scurrying around his house. he's trying to kill it but it keeps jumping at him and heckling him and making him type incoherrantly (or it's because he's holding a golf club and swinging at it while typing) so i'm having a hard time figuring out what is going on.

i told him to get a mousetrap and lure it in with a piece of steak since the beast seems like it could go through a nice slab of meat no problemo.

anyone know what the shit that thing is?

It looks like a Centipede. It may be an alien species though.

I'm going to second the centipede suggestion. Whatever it is, though, it scares me.

OMG!!!! it's the cave bug's friend. I have these in my basement. actually ihave one in a jar right next to me right now....it is some cross breed and it's scary as hell. i don't know the name but i know that if these are around, tell your friend to watch out for the cave bug. it looks like a grasshopper with spider legs and it can jump the length of a room in one jump. i was beginning to think that these only lived in my house. eeek eeek

it is definitely not a centipede, it may be related, but it is way nastier. nasty puke

I've seen them things before, they have a fear radius of twelve feet. I think they are river centipedes. They scream and they are very fragile, KILL THEM ALL. Eradicate their species.

he sent another picture of the chaos that is going on... EVIDENTLY his room was nice and clean until he started getting attacked by the monster bug, swinging his club around and such.

tell him to spray it with hair spay. that usually kills anything that crawls around with multiple legs. it's sticky and clogs up their skin so they can't breathe. it might take awhile to kill it but it MIGHT slow it down long enough to smash it.

ewwwwwwwwwww yech!!! my skin is still crawling but i can't help laughing at that pic of him on the bed.

Its a centipede..yes they are all carnivours, yes they have a posionius bite and yes they are antrhopods, which means you will never be able to kill them all as they pre-date our primative species and can survive any enviroment.

here is the link to what it is...

Dude! I had those in my house in Missouri! I thought they were some bizarre mutant breed and everyone thought I was nuts when I tried to describe them. Creepy as fuck.

house centipedes are soooo coool. like pretty much all other centipedes, they're poisonous, but i've never ever ever heard of anyone getting bitten by one. i don't think their mouths are strong enough or something. i find them in my house sometimes, and i catch them and bring them outside, because they make my roommate cry. anyway, they're [kinda] good to have around because they eat other bugs that would eat the food in your house.

I'm not sure. but consider this..the most deadly creatures are anthropodes...look at the scorprion or the fire lobster...I'm not sure if spiders fall in the catagory of anthropodes...but he can get pretty sick though not to my knowledge I've known someone to die (from a centipede bite). I dunno 1800-ask-a-nurse or something.
