ya know

on one hand, if ya don't wanna deal with this kind of shit and have a life where you can keep valuables around and they won't get fucked with, don't breed.. . . .

.. .but on the other hand, THAT RULED

(but then maybe that's my hatred for PS2 fans talking)

I can't believe no one's wondered why they had an expensive bugle lying around ready to be auctioned on Ebay... Plus, Bugles aren't an interesting instrument. You ask me if I'd rather trash a bugle or play PS2... hey, no brainer!

There's something funny about this bugle obsession...

Something about this bothers me. I'm not sure what. Granted, it sounds like the kid in question did some really assholish stuff, but he also sounds out of control, and the only person his parents can blame for that is themselves.

yeah, they need to do some better parenting. if only they could come up with some kind of punishment that would get him to pay attention and fall into line. tongue

They need to do some better spelling. I wonder if she has all of her teeth.

22, you live with your parents and you have to lock the bedroom door to keep them from punnishing you?

This is from the auction:

"He played, if not for hours at a time. When he would not take care of anything else, but he took care of this little treasure of his. Ground him, take away phone privileges………….anything but this PS2"

I would commend the sellers on their mastery of incomplete sentances.

Not to mention that they hope to "recoop their losses." What, did the kid let the chickens escape, too?

That is the funniest damn comment I have read all day.

The auction itself disturbs me. Though I wouldn't be happy about the loss of a bottle of Dom (certainly), I think I would be more concerned that my 13 year old son was drinking than to simply slap a $120 price tag on it.

That's priceless! Shitty parenting, but priceless.

My father constantly told my twin and me that he would clean up our toys with a shovel if we didn't clean up after ourselves. He had to say it one time too many, and tons of our G.I. Joe action figures, the hover craft, and a bunch of other crap hit the curb. Apparently a little kid happened by just as my dad was hauling it all out. That little bastard thought it was X-mas in July.

We had it coming.

Yeah, the more I read it, the crazier the Mom sounds. We sell stuff on ebay occasionally, and you can be damn sure that none of my little ones are going to get their hands on any of that stuff.

But still.....funny idea.

So she revokes a privelage because the kid was bad? That's bad parenting? At least she got something out of it. All my mom ever got was having to look after me more. Not that I was the bad one. That was my sister. I was a lot smarter. I didn't get my ass caught nearly as much.

I had a psych teacher who was very against spanking and hitting kids as discipline, her response to punishment was to "find your kids heart and tear it out....i.e...sell their playstation" wink smile love hahah
Seriously though this tactic would only work once or twice before the kid learns to not be attached to material possessions.

But I tell you what, my kid would be working off the damages, nothing bites more than losing free, kid time to earning money you can't keep.

But aside from that, I would be more surprised if the kid was really taught a lesson by this because in all likelihood he didn't have to save up for it himself and he obviously doesn't know the value of things. ... Maybe he will now though, oh well it beats beating the kid tongue
