I have been, in the past, influenced by my family to do things like ice fish... that's kind of regional, I guess.

For my own, real hobbies, I sew sometimes, recently got into photography, and bellydance.

Up here in da frozen wasteland of Minnesota we like ta make snow forts and 'cuddle with our bunnies' if ya know what I mean. The other three weeks out of the year-when ya don't haf ta wear a parka and goloshes, we have swell time playin' 'betcha can't guess when it's gonna freze agin'.
Seriously though, boarding is the thing to do up here. :

I build custom bicycles.

As far as regional hobbies........along with the other locals, I enjoy cursing at tourists.

Ice Fishing?.?.?.?. BRRRRRRRRRRRR, don't like to stand in the frozen food section at the Grocer. Sewing, Photography............. Very cool.

But Bellydancing.................. Fuckin wow!!!!!! is that something you take classes, or just buy the gear and rent a video. I had a belly dancer at one of my birthdays in Aspen and man..... Wow was she hot. The movement of the waist was really mesmerizing, the only other experience like that is Cinco de Mayo in San Antonio where I fell in love.... Countless times with the Flamenco Dancers

Often, artists consider every movement throughout their day as being art, living it not doing it. Do you consider your paintings a hobby? If everything is your hobby; than living is only an xtracarricular affair. I don't know, but your paintings make me want to be at the beach.

When I lived in the Sierra Nevada foothills I went out into the woods and drank with my friends.

Now that I live in Sacramento I sit on my porch and drink with my friends.

I guess hobbies ARE influenced by the region you live in.
