I use things I learned from Buster's performances, daily in my own.

I was very lucky to meet his widow, Eleanor Keton, before she passed. She shared many wonderful stories about him. Truly, a 'blue collar' performer - and I respect him for that. Do yourselves a favor and also check out Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy. Stan was another Master of the craft, and wrote most of the Laurel and Hardy films.

Me at work. And yes, that's make-up!

Too bad I never got to meet Mae Scriven (my relative to whom he was married)...but the marriage was an unhappy one, so I guess it's a good thing.

And Laurel and Hardy are also teh awesome. Those two and Keaton are pretty much the best ever. (I also like some of the old Our Gang stuff, before that damn Alfalfa came and ruined everything...but don't tell anyone. Spanky looked just like a tiny version of Oliver Hardy...so cute!)

I did a report on Buster Keaton for a class project and I included a scene from The General for the presentation. It was a class full of idiot high school students but everyone loved it! It made me think there might be some hope left for Our Nation's Youth.

I know a Keaton pretty damned well and she's one of the greatest people I've ever been around. So, if she's a distillation of Mr. Keaton himself...one can only imagine.
