This may be an old topic but I can't find it.

for all those that know about tatoos, will it hurt a tatoo to ride a motorcycle for several days and many many miles within about a week of getting it.

Have been told by locals not to get one done in Oklahoma, so was thinking of getting one while in Oregon this summer. I will be riding my motorcycle back, so don't want to get one if it will "smear" due to vibration and rubbing of the jacket.

To keep it from smearing, moisten it fully and hold it down with constant pressure for at least 5 minutes before peeling off the backing.

I don't know about the vibration, but yeah, keep your jacket on to protect it from the summer sun. My tattoo artist said that too much sun while it's fresh is a good way to get the 'blob' effect.

Okalhoma to Oregon? Whew, that's a long ride. Ever been to Sturgis from OK?

Good luck!

that's a good point, you could schedule an appointment for your first or second day out here, and it should have plenty of time to heal before you head out. you should email the artist to get a design and an appointment for when you get here.

okay. this is probably something that will be better received in the TATTOO GROUP. the people there will give you an honest answer without all the bull shit.
