The Mona Lisa Smile star is rumored to be the Invisible Woman for the live-action Marvel Comic adaptation of The Fantastic Four.

"What they're doing with these comic books and turning them into films is just magical," Stiles said. "If they hadn't been as good up till now I probably wouldn't even be interested in the comic film I'm looking at doing."

In addition, The Shield's Michael Chiklis will be playing the role of The Thing. Tim Story (Barbershop) is directing.

We can hope for a good adaptation. We can hope.

I'm rather tired of all the comic-book inspired movies that have been hitting theatres relentlessly over the past year...X-Men 2 was fun, but Hulk, Punisher, and that piece of shit Daredevil weren't worth $9.00.

as a hardcore, and i mean HARDCORE comic book fan, I'm torn. Fact is, Marvel makes alot of money off these. Some of that money gets put backinto the actual comics ,which I think gets left out more often than not. But on the other hand, adapting the comics to the movies is an extremely stupid idea, and changing them around to sell more sucks. Everybody always talks about how pretty the movies are but I think that the only ones with any substance was the x-men ones and spider-man. Theres an attitude that the pictures are more important than the story, and thats just bullshit. And I think the movies feed into that attidtude, alot.

Plus, if there was ever one thing Im an elitist about, its comic books. And Im proud of it. And I REEEALLLLLLLLY hate all the idiot kids who see the movie and talk about how much they know about the character and how big of a role spider-man has played in their lives. Bullshit.

That's what you call a dichotomy. Thing scary looking, but warm and cuddly inside. People shun him and all he wants is lurve. Then he meets Alicia Masters who is blind.

Very subtle.

Well, I was familiar with his work BEFORE The Shield (Which I fucking love!) when he was on "The Commish" . He was the polar opposite of Vic Mackey on that show. A really nice family guy.
The Thing is a little rough, anyway. The soft-hearted tough guy. I think Michael Chiklis will handle it well.

Julia Stiles, on the other hand...

I think the reason marvel etc are turning comics into films, is partly due to the money (well mainly) but its a different 'style' for them to work with. It also brings the storys into the 21st century?

Julia Stiles? puke

That may be the first time i've used that particular little emoticon, if that tells you how much I hate the idea of Stiles playing Sue Storm.

She may be the nicest person in the whole damn world but I still don't want to see her playing Sue Storm in the FF movie.

i haven't seen punisher yet, but despite some quirkiness with the plot, HULK was awesome, IMHO. i thought ang lee did a fantastic job with the subtlety of the characters and the cinematography was INSANE!!!!! surely there are some who agree? also, i think Stiles would be great as sue storm. if they do the movie as the origin story, then she's the perfect age. i think they've had some great success with the adaptations thus far. especially cosidering the complete garbage they were trying ot pass off in the 80s and 90s. (captain america, anyone? dolph as the punisher? staright to video FF? uuggghhh!)

although daredevil was a big shitfest, that's been pretty much the only stumble, IMO.
