I work at a quickie mart and bullshit with the cops quite often. I brought up that topic and most said they wouldn't even start pulling people over until they were doing over 70 in a 55. Damn...

Yea around here i usually add at least 20 mph to the speed limit. I havent gotten pulled over on the highway in DFW, ever.
You can always try to dispute it. Say that he was positioned poorly of that the radar guns arent that presice etc. Worth a shot

you can go to court and ask to not have points put on your license, and pay the fine, and accept the responsibility of speeding. Usually when they accept that they put the ticket on hold for 6 months if you dont get another ticket they erase it from the books.

The state/county/city only wants thier money from the ticket, its a huge income for them, they dont much care about points on your license for minor traffice violations.

claim speedometer error. Slightly taller tires can throw it off 5 mph.

You're lucky, last March I got a speeding ticket for going 100 in a 70, my actual speed was about 87. The difference? About $200. Not that this mattered any, even if I could prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that the cop was full of shit, I still would've paid more in court costs than the ticket and insurance hike.

I just found a diff website where a guy in my state got a ticket as well. He went to court and still had to pay a $100 fine for "unknown reasons", but the ticket was put on hold for one year and will be dismissed provided he does not get another. I'm going to try and do this myself. If anyone else has anything else to add feel free..thanks guys..Hopfully i can get some kind of deal like that..
