So, my computer is having some major issues right about now. Basically, any site I access in MSIE that has a form to fill out (ie. my email, this classroom login, etc) gives me an error. It seems almost to me like it's trying to send my login and password somewhere but I can't read right now (long story but i had dental surgery today) and can't take the time to figure out the javascript. I might just be paranoid though?

I tried to figure it out with MSIE for awhile though and my dad could get into all these sites using my information but I couldn't, then I move over to Mozilla and it's fine. Weird, ya. Another thing though, my Notepad is gone! The icon is gone (the little blue pad) so it's just an unclassified .exe files (which i stupidly opened when i tried to use notepad) and the program won't run. Very strange.

I noticed that earlier today. I had a trojan that I zapped earlier when I ran a Macaffee virus scan (after the whole notepad thing) and reran it and it came up clean and right now am running one from housecall.antivirus.com but they're not picking anything else up. Does anyone know what might be going on or where I can go for help? Macaffee is coming up with absolutely nothing and I am not very computer techy wise and don't know who else to consult...I thought perhaps someone around here might know? I just want to know what's going on.

you might want to go to lavasoftusa.com and check out adaware. im not positive but it sounds like you may have some spyware on your computer.

adaware will scan your comp and tell you what spyware it found and ask if you want to delete it.

So why not stick with Moz? Or get the less bloated, prettier version, Firefox?

I'll stop my mozilla evangelism when people stop thinking MSIE is the best thing out there.

I know MSIE isn't the best thing out there. But now the thing is, what the fuck is going on with my MSIE. I want a healthy computer. Not one that I can't use MSIE because it's broken and I fear for security threats. That's not healthy for me. And what if someone else uses my computer and they use MSIE to check their hotmail

Oh god. This pisses me off and I can't find any answers.

if NOTHING is working id say reinstall MSIE.

OR if you have win 98 or ME - go into add/remove progs
find msie - click remove
it should give you the option to REPAIR ie. choose that

repair IE
restart computer

if that doesn't work, i'd say reinstall.

another thing i thought of before reinstalling.

if you're on xp:

make sure IE is closed
click on start go to run
type in cmd
you should get the black DOS command screen
type:
netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt
hit enter
if entered right it should go back to a blinking cursor with the first thing you saw.
type:
exit
hit enter
this should close the DOS prompt.
restart computer

this only works on XP.
