My dad is (well, was...he retired) a rocket scientist. Seriously! He was an aerospace engineer that worked on propulsion systems for rockets/missles.

He is also the one person who I love above anyone else. We couldn't be more diametrically opposed in politics, philosophy, etc. But he is my hero. I have never encountered someone with more integrity, honesty, and strength of character. Fuck with him, and I'll eat your heart while you watch.

my dad had 14 jobs in one year-then he became a truck driver and did that for ever until he had a terrible accident, now he is a steele laborer. he is tuff as nails and sweet as pie. love the old man.

My dad is an earthquake analyst at the USGS. He's a geophysicist. He has to go to work whenever there is an earthquake that is so big in such and such populated area. No matter what time it is. He gets asked to do interviews for tv and stuff sometimes but he's never done it. He doesn't want to be on tv.
My mom is a librarian. Head of reference.
I am proud of my parents. They're good people.

My Dad died a year ago this upcoming Sunday...

He worked at a Government Ammunitions Depot though. Started as a guard, retired as commander of the site. He was a really cool guy.

pops is a workoholic that can't learn how to chill out. he owns a farm / lawn and garden equipment buisness. it doesn't help that i work for him either. he takes no time off at all, and if he's workin, i'm workin too.

my dad is a real estate appraiser...self-employed for 26 years. hes old fashioned and emotional but extremely strong and rather militant. hes the leader of our entire extended family.
he is also a hard act to follow...he always got good grades, he was the star of the football and track team in college, and to this day people that knew him when he was younger tell the dopest stories about him.
hes the most charismatic muhfucka ever invented. hes got all the game.
what else? hes successful and goal oriented...at one time he was a millionaire...so his expectations of me and my brother and sister are astronomical.
hes a bit dictator-ish...he hates that I dance and act and make art...he wants me to be a journalist or something "more stable".
I'm a daddy's girl though...even if he makes me upset on a regular basis. I love him unconditionally.

my dad's retired Navy. Currently he's going to school, business management or something like that. He works at the VA office right now...

My dad is not the coolest guy. He is a little more religous than I am cofortable with and is pretty damn conservative. But he means well and has gone through hell for his kids. He tries harder than just about anyone I know. He's a police detective in San Antonio...has been since before I was born. I hope he retires soon though. The stress of the job is more than he can really handle.

dad is a preacher part time, theology teacher full time and has his PhD in theology. i've been a preachers daughter since i popped out. he's conservative, but a music geek in his own right. never gave me and bro' a hard time about our music. he turned me on to the beatles as a kid and loves to download from kazaa
