yes Im an NC State fan, but I truely feel that any team who passes on Phillip Rivers in the draft is going to be giving themselves a big fat "DOH!!!" somewhere down the line.
he will be an awesome, solid NFL QB, and the best in this draft.

He tends to sidearm the ball. NFL trainers will try to break him of this habit and his accuracy may suffer as a result. I think Eli is a much safer choice.

Eli Manning, no doubt about it. The NFL is littered with physically stellar, top picked QBs that fell by the wayside. In today's leage, it's what you have upstairs that allows you to go the distance as a QB. Eli is intelligent, mature, and has a hall of fame father and MVP brother to fall back on for counseling and advice. No contest.

And I don't blame the Manning's for asking San Diego to pass on Eli; I'd so the same thing. I think both Oakland and NYG are good franchises, and either would be worthy of Eli.

Manning has said that if San Diego drafts him, he will sit out a year. I think San Diego will trade down a few spots and take Rivers or Rothlisberger.

I can't see him going to Oakland, as much as I'd like him to. They just traded down in the draft for tim couch, and they've got tuiasasopo, so they don't really need a QB. larry fitzgerald on the other hand biggrin

Well, let's see. The eleven people that posted before you "care." Do you have any other rudimentary questions I can answer for you?

Why isn't anyone talking about Arizona? Supposedly they are not looking for a QB, but with the 3rd pick who knows.. God I hope Manning doesn't end up there. That team is such a death sentence.

Theres not a quarterback in the draft who has more upstairs than Rivers. That's not even arguable. That is his main tool above his size, because no one is accusing him of a classic delivery or fleet feet. Even as a freshman he had maturity far beyond his years. That is the very thing that made him the all time ACC leading quarterback with a far less talented receiving corps over his career than others enjoyed.I know college stats don't mean NFL sucess, but the way he earned them through toughness and ising his head will translate well.
Manning has already said he would sit out if SD chose him? That's maturity?

I know being a crybaby pussy and wanting to change the draft to fit your needs works out for some people (elway, steve francis) but I hate Manning now, just like I hate his stupid brother. I really hope he goes to SD and sits out for years. And then I hope Joey Harrington finally lives up to his potential and hype...sigh.... frown ....the life of a lions fan...

Don't believe everything you read; the media is trying to create a shitstorm out of nothing because it sells.

Alright so I'm biased, I went to college with P. Manning (played different sport though). In the end, we'll just have to wait it out and see what happens. These things are almost impossible to predict.

Damn, you sure put me in my seat...But it's Michael JORDAN...I mean come on now, if you don't know that your a stooge.

And in all seriousness, i think Rothlisberger is better than Rivers but then again its the MAC...I'm waiting for Van Pelt from CSU to tear shit up. wink

Yea, Those are the exact words I have heard from everyone describing Rivers.
whatever whatever whatever
Can you elaborate on that and name one thing he has done in his career that would back that statement up? Let me see. Excellent student. Married his wife his freshmen year, has a family of his own. Showed incredible leadership on the field and off it. Never complained or made excuses after losses, never got big headed after wins. never involved in any scandle, stayed all 4 years though he certainly could have left early. Owns nearly every record in the ACC for QB's, including winningest ever QB.Took a so-so program to quite more national spotlights.
Yea..I see your point.
Now your examples please. Young, yep. After that, you are lost.but here's his career stats Maybe you can find something there to back you up. wink
