Man, I just love finding stupid mistakes in Star Wars that when I was at college, I'd've had to re shoot because of. Lucas, however, with his bunch of ball-less lackeys and yes men can clearly do no wrong... Here's the latest fuckup which I just noticed in Episode II
Duel between Anakin and Count Dooku...
Anakin blocks Dooku's saber with his (borrowed) green saber... Obi-Wan throws Anakin his own (borrowed) blue saber, which Anakin catches in his left hand...
In the next cut as he pirouttes away (like some malevelent ballerina) the blue saber is now in his right hand, and the green saber is in his left, with no signs of him switching them...
Oh dear Mr Lucastongue
(Also, yes, I know someone else would've added the saber glows, but as overall director and producer, the responsibility falls on Lucas to notice shit like thatwink)

meh, but you're correct -- it was out of his hands by then... that's why you have to hire continuity people who are obsessed with such minutiae.

besides, i'd much rather see him spend his time working on the script.

In Empire, doesn't Lando's strap across his chest keep swapping sides or something? I'm sure I read that somewhere.

it happens to a lot of things actually, lando's sash, the rebel pilots helmet microphones, it's because footage from scenes is sometimes mirrored to keep scene continuity.
for example when Xwings come flying in from left to right it confuses the viewer if the xwing pilot is then shown on the right side of the screen looking left, so they mirror the footage causing his mic to be on the wrong side of his helmet.

Out of his hands, but certainly not beyond his control to rectify, that's what test screenings are for wink Lucas is just really really sloppy when it comes to things like this (like the reversed print of Obi-Wan in Phantom Menace) It just really bugs me that as a film student, those mistakes would have meant re shooting... For a billionaire film maker, it just gets onto the big screenwink

Finding mistakes in starwars is like finding mistakes in spelling in alphabits.

And yet, people still seem to like it.

I'm like...oh well. He's George Lucas. He can mess up whatever he wants.
