i had insomnia the other month for a few weeks. my doctor said that the best idea is to refrain from any stimulation for the last 1-2 hours before going to bed. i.e, no computer, t.v or anything. he also suggested doing something like go for a walk or run to tire your body out bit. or have a nice long bath so you relax. it helped me, so it's worth a try.
Trazodone was the 1st prescription my doctor gave me for insomnia. All it did was increase my heart rate to the point that I was actually concerned for my health.
i take either a nyquil pill, 6-8 hrs before having to be up, or bayer pm.....a good 10-12 hrs before.... Drinking used to do the trickbut a decade of that got to the point where it no longer worked......
another good easy trick is find celestial seasonings sleepy time tea..... 4 cups or so, and an hr later.... yawn. Sometimes you can find it with valarian, but.. well, it tends to give you headaches........
insomnia sucks.. til you learn to live with it....
