I'll preface this by stating that I have a REALLY hard time believing anything illogical, I'm not religious or "spiritual", even though I love horror/monster movies and have since I was tiny, I'm NOT a "true believer" type. Having said that, I still have no idea what happened in my house almost two years ago. My daughter was probably about 9 or 10 months old and had been having a really rough time getting ready to sleep one night, she just kept getting wound up and did not want to be put down. After doing everything I could to get her relaxed and sleepy I resigned myself to the idea that I was just going to have to put her to bed and let her cry it out until she fell asleep. Well, right about that time, she nodded off in my lap, so I slipped her into her bed and went back into the other room and sat down by the baby monitor. I heard her breathing and then heard her start rolling around and knew she was going to wake back up and start crying. I was, of course, correct, she started crying and screaming, but before I had gotten all the way out of my chair I heard a woman's voice come through the monitor just as clear as I heard my daughter crying and the voice just said "It's alright, it's OK" and my daughter stopped crying. I ran to her room, but of course there was nobody there, we were alone in the house. I thought maybe the monitor had picked up a radio or someone's phone call or something, but I never heard another voice that wasn't actually in the room come through it or any radio or anything else like that. My daughter slept in my room that night and I stayed up almost all night long just watching her.
Again, as much as I would like to believe that there is more to this world, I can't quite convince myself that there is, so I still think there must be an explanation to that story, but I've resigned myself to the fact that I'll never know what it is.
