This is the thread where everyone has to tell their scariest paranormal experiences. The kind of shit that makes people turn on all the lights in their house and jump when there's a knock at the door.

i once lived in my great grandmother's house, my room had been my grandfather's before he died. the house was remodled.

one evening i left my room for a few minutes to get something.. as i walked the down the hall the door SLAMMED shut and locked... behind me. i had to go around to the front of the house and climb back in through my window.

I was lying on the couch, my girlfriend was in the shower and someone sighed in my ear. It sounded like they were no further than three or four inches away, and sounded so real, like it couldn't be a noise made by something else.
I've also was at a party once and one of my friends said something to make me angry and I kinda of blacked out standing around a group of people, everyone said I looked straight up to the ceiling and my eyes were completely black.
I also sleepwalk, which is, to me, about the weirdest thing EVER....It scared me so much. I have slight memories of walking around my old house in the middle of the night, doing things that I know I was unconcious for. This also was the house that was haunted by about 14 different spirits, you could feel it walking through the door. It was next to an empty lot that had a ditch running through it, on the other side was a VERY old church, we think the lot was once used as a cemetary.

I lived in Georgia once. I woke up in the night thinking someone was staring at me. I looked at the foot of the bed and there was a small girl floating there. I did the only thing that came to mind, I lunged at her and she disappeared. A month or so later I fell asleep on the couch and woke up and saw two children playing in the floor. They looked up at me and **poof** were gone.
My friend was renting a house from a lady andheard someone say to him " My neck hurts". He asked the lady about who had rented the house and she told him the guy that lived there died of throat cancer. eeek eeek eeek eeek eeek

I don't believe in ghosts, so much as other forces. If you belive in God, and I do, then you also have to believe in demons.

Well, nothing as freaky as the other tales in this thread. When I was younger and living at my parent's house, I walked out of my room upstairs into the hall and saw a black shape, about the size of the family dog - we had a black lab at the time. The hall was not well lit, but I was so sure this shape was the dog that I called to it, but it ignored me and "moved" into another room at the end of the hall.

I shrugged and went downstairs...where I found my dog sleeping in the kitchen surreal

I found 20 dollar bills, one a week for 4 weeks once all in different locations , that was a little odd but I have never seen anything that would convince me of the existance of paranormal activity though my mind is open, I think I would welcome anything that would shake up my perceptions of reality ..ghosts, extra terrestrials ...bring em on!

A friend of mine who had moved out of state died in a car accident when we were 17. A few months after that, I had a dream that she was upset and trying to tell me something, but her words were muffled. She hugged me and I got the impression she was warning me to be careful about something. The next day I wrecked my car by stupidly running a red light, and it was like I could feel her hold me when it happened. I feel like she somehow protected me from being hurt in the accident, and I thank her for that.

oh that shit is real.
i knew a group of friends who lived in a huge house that had spirits in it. when they first moved in they were refurbishing the rooms and each day they would come back to find them trashed. so they decided to stay in the house to make sure no one was getting in while they were gone, and again in the morning things were wrecked. they communicated with the residing spirits using a spiritual medium to make peace with the ghosts. they had even set up a room with a chair facing towards the window for one of the spirits to sit in in exchange for it to keep his temper, no one went in this room.
supposedly there was one spirit that continued to haunt them from time to time and wouldn't accept them staying in his space. they had told me about him a few times and i figured this was all just something to talk about while we smoked herb and was in fun. this was a house with about 10 people living in it and all of them would support one anothers stories. as i was about to leave one night after watching a movie i went to the bathroom and as i entered the lights were off. i could feel a presence in the room as i walked in and fumbled to find the light switch. Before I could find it, someone or something grabbed my head from behind and smacked my head into the tile wall...i fell to the ground and immediately stood up and found the light switch. there was no one in the bathroom with me, yet i had a nice welt to prove something had cracked my head into the tile really good. i showed my friends and they all agreed it had to be this ghost they were telling me about. i couldn't believe it. a couple of weeks later my good friend was cleaning the same bathroom and was on his hands and knees cleaning the toilet...same fucking thing happened to him...the next time i saw him he had a welt on his forehead just like mine. he moved out a couple of weeks later.
the house was built over 100 years ago and had changed hands several times, but in the 70's was owned by a music producer who worked for ZZ Top and Fleetwood Mac...perhaps some of that satanic cocaine magick still resides there.

I on many occasions would have to go under the house to fix cable, internet, phone wires or whatever. It was basically a 2 foot tall cubby hole type thing that ran all under the house. One occasion I was cleaning all the junk out of it, and there was this huge bottle with the word poison on it, skull and crossbones, all that jazz. I ignored it for awhile to clean everything else out from under the house. When I went back to get I picked it up, and I got...violent goosebumps is the best I could put it and it was almost like the whole house lifted up and slammed back down, obviously it didnt, but it sounded like it. That's really all that happened. I went down there lots of times before and after that, and nothing else ever happened. frown

That happened to me when I got in my car accident right after my friend Stavros died, like the car was totalled like no other and we all just had bumps and bruises. What happened was the tierods fell off (after getting it inspected 2 weeks before) and he hit right side o bridge, flipped, hit left side and landed upsidedown in the middle of road, and I could feel stavros there cuz all of us held on to something, but we had nothing to hold on to

Now I have chills that won't stop. It's comforting to know you have an "angel" like that looking out for you, but it's scary at the same time.

sorry... first post was an attempt at humor. smile

i totally believe in spirits and ghosts and the like. just because we can't explain it, doesn't mean it's not real. that shit is probably happening around us all the time, we just aren't tuned into it. nothin' much to report on the personal side, tho. i have satanic, demonic dreams from time to time. when i wake up i have to totally wake up, or i lapse right back into the same dream again.
why can't i do that when i'm nailing some really hot dream-chick?

OK, my friends and I used to go ghost hunting. We took cameras and tape recorders out to places in the middle of the night, and just took pictures, and recorded alot of nothing. It was mostly an excuse to get out and run around cemetaries and old abandoned and ruined buildings in the middle of the night. IT was mostly our friend Ari who believed that we would catch something on film one day. We were never sure is he really believed, or if he believed he had us believing. Either way, we never got anything...
Except one night....
We were in Druid Ridge Cemetary. A huge cemetary, mind you. Anyway, i set the tape recorder on a stone, and we went off taking pictures. We came back, packed it all up, and we were listening to the tape in the car. About 15 minutes into the tape, you could hear the voice. It was obviously a child. It was pretty clear and loud, though it sounded distant. Not quiet, but distant. like whoever it was was about 10 feet from the mic, talking in a normal voice. It very clearly said "Bye, daddy. I love you."
It wasnt set anywhere near the main road, or the service roads inside the cemetary, all my friends were with me the whole time (there was only 3 of us, not hard to keep track). It was also way past the bedtime of any child this age.
I transferred the sound to the computer. i still have it, if anyone wants it. I transferred it off a boombox to my old sound card, into Sound Forge, so it's really not the best of quality, but it's there. I also raised the volume a bunch, so it would be more audible. I sounds alot louder on the tape than in the transfer

Also, my aunt used to live in a old converted barn for a while, and she told lots of stories of nick-knacks in the dining room deciding to float over to the shelf on the adjacent wall.

I've always believed in spirits and ghosts and stuff,

On this very night...
along the same stretch of road...
in a dense fog...
just like this...
I saw the worst accident I ever seen...
There was this sound...
Like a garbage truck!
Dropped off the empire state building!
And when they finally pulled the driver's body...
From the Twisted... Burning... Wreck...
It looked like...
THIS!!!!!!
hooo hooo hooo hooo hooo haaaah!

Yes sir...
That was the worst accident I ever seen...

not creepy but it got my attention cuz of the "wow - improbable! " factor.

for two weeks, every time i cut a deck of cards, no matter who shuffled them or whatever, i got the 2 of spades. 23 times - 2 of spades.

that's =(1/52)^23 which seems pretty unlikley to me.

then there was the time i was lying in bed in the dark talking with my girlfriend of the time and the light caught the face of this beautiful girl in the oddest way and she was suddenly terrifying. one second everything was normal, then she was utterly transformed. for a few seconds i was disoriented and so scared i couldn't breathe.

my face was in shadow so i think she missed my reaction. i didn't mention it to her. i still can't imagine how to even begin that conversation...
