I think now I've heard everything...

Got a favorite pet? Hate to part with him/her when he/she passes? Here's your answer...

Genetic Savings and Clone

OK, so do all cloned dogs go to heaven?

I would like to clone a hairless version of my dog. I love her dearly. I hope she out lives me. Damn she sheds alot. Eight or Nine years of white furballs and a generally dark wardrobe. I do not think a clone would be the same. How can they clone what they have seen. I cannot see that as a possibility.

I love my Gomie-mez, but even if I cloned him, it wouldn't be HIM. You can't clone a personality.

Plus, I would know it wasn't him, and that would hurt. frown

my cats both dies of liver problems, i wouldnt have cloned them even if i could because i wouldnt put another animal through the discomfort they went through.
and even if that could be sorted, they still wouldnt be the same. frown

Ha ha. I made you call him Gomie. biggrin His name is Gomez, so I often call him Gomie-mez, Gomie, MezMonster, etc. wink

Most of the pet names I have for my pets (heh...see what I did there? hahaha...ha...heh...uh...nevermind) aren't quite so G-rated. Those names are generally reserved for when they've crapped on something irreplaceable or eaten a neighbor.

But since you taunted me, I'm gonna clone your damn cat and call him Gomie! wink

ooh! see, this would have been perfect for my family, because we've had two wonderful dogs that we got through animal shelters, so they were neutered by default. both times we've said "man, if only they were intact, we would breed them!" and this way we kinda could. one has already passed, and now mine is getting to be almost 10.

i love my doggies so much frown
