A little known independent film called "Lakeboat". The screenplay is by David Mamet, and it stars Peter Falk, George Wendt, and Denis Leary among others. Fucking brilliant film.

And, Nonchalant has a good idea with the "Freaks & Geeks".

i really didnt like this movie...people told me it was really gross and horrendous...which it was but only in the last 20 minutes...the rest is boring

i would suggest (if you are looking for semi-underground - which is what everyone seems to be suggesting) is:

sectretary
but im a cheerleader
baba yaga (very old)
pump up the volume
requiem for a dream

i suspect you have already rented or found something by now...but maybe these will help in the future!
biggrin

edited cause i never passed the 3rd grade...
