Had the DVD since it released. It's great. Has a few quality problems, but it's nothing that detracts from the excellent, amazing, fantastic, outstanding, superb, awesome show Pete and Pete is.

I wish news would come of a release for the second and third Pete and Pete seasons. I heard they were working on them, just no details. And I'd totally buy a lot of other Nick shows too: AYAOTD, Hey Dude, Salute Your Shorts, Alex Mack, etc.

Last time I looked at Amazon, they had the release date for season 2 as November 1st, no word on season 3.

I have a secret that almost no one seems to know... Artie, the strongest man in the world is on 'King of the Hill."

Check #16, yo.

he also sang the theme song to "the Brothers Grunt"
and was playing a lounge singer in some random MTV ads (one of them where he tries to sing "dre day")

I got Pete and Pete DVDs, they look fine to me.

Oh my god. More shocking than the King of the Hill connection is the Carnivale connection. That was one of my favorite shows, and I only now realized that Arty played Felix. It's strange and wonderful, and a little terrifying. He goes from strongest man in the world to basically a low class pimp.

Cheers,
Ché

i just finished rewatching season one on dvd... it is one of the few shows i can watch from my childhood and still like as much as i did back then, it was just such an odd, yet incredibly brilliant show.

now if only salute your shorts would come out on dvd

I have 1 million Pete & Pete episodes on my computer. I am more than willing to burn them and mail them out, if anyone wants. It won't quite be like having a DVD set, but it might hold you over till another one comes out.

Also: Artie vs. Papercut was the best fight ever. in the universe.

I hope season 2 has more commentaries, the ones on the first set were great. I loved hearing about how Toby Huss (Artie) was a super-liberal performance artist.

I also hope they include more of the shorts, most of them were before my time. And it'd be nice if they got rid of the ads that run when you put the DVD in, but that ain't gonna happen. Other than those issues and the red line through the middle of one of the episodes, the DVDs were great and everyone should buy two copies.

I read that Dr. Hunter S. Thompson himself had a cameo on the show, can anyone confirm this?

While I'm at it, IMDB said that Toby Huss has a recurring role on Reno 911. Can anyone tell me who he plays? There are so many eccentric characters on that show that I'm really unsure about which one is him.
Oh, and I bought the first Clarissa DVD too... Not very good. I'll probably buy the next season though to see if it got better, because I love me some 90's Nick.

If any of you are Hal Hartley fans, it's worth noting that Michael Spiller, the cinematographer for almost all of Hartley's movies, was also the cinematographer for most of Pete & Pete's run... and is in part responsible for the unique look of the show.

A couple of Hartley regulars also make cameos -- Damian Young, who played Stu the bus driver, and Martin Donovan as a crossing guard.

Also, during the closing credits of Hartley's movie Amateur, Toby Huss (strongest man in the world) gets a "special thanks" mention.

Remember that two part episode "Farewell my little viking" I remember crying when I watched that the first time.

And Rocko's Modern life was awesome.
