Today I made my mother cry and my father proud by signing up for the Canadian Armed Forces. It's been a dream of mine since I could remember and I plan to do it before I die. Today when I told my mom she started to tear up and the first thing she said was "My baby boy is going to die" I tried to explaining that I have a small risk of dying with the position I applied for which is Construction Technician. She keeps saying that I'm going to die.
On the other hand my father is super proud of me and he has been wanting me to follow my dreams all my life. So he taken me to the bar for a couple beers and we talked about what I'm going to do in the army and stuff like that. Then I told him how mom reacted and all he said was ignore her and I just went all silent. I don't know what to do!!! Should I listen to my dad or try to fix things with my mom? I need help!!!
