Hey all. I just graduated school and moved quite a long way away from home to take a job in a new city. I was wondering if any of you who've been in similar situations could share some advice as far as getting out there and meeting some new people. Being an entry-level position, many of the people at my workplace are in the same boat, or (worse) commute from a long distance, so I'm mainly looking for avenues other than going-out-with-the-bros-after work. Thanks!

First suggestion: never, ever, EVER, use the word "bros."

Do things you are interested in. Hang out with the people there.

Oh. And see if SG has a local group in your area. Unless you aren't really into this.

This.

Also, don't go in with expectations. Go because you want to have fun.

I've heard good things about meetup.com.
