An english researcher has published a book claiming that there's only 27 different kind of men. The book is called "The Many Faces of Men" and looks at much more than just men's faces.

Among the types he identified were the Achilles, a charming but flawed sophisticate named after Homer's hero in the "Iliad" and illustrated in the book by former United States President Bill Clinton

"Achilles will particularly enjoy sex in risky situations and places," the book says. "He is a man who could be truly special ... if only he could overcome his single flaw."

The Murdoch, named after the Australian media tycoon Rupert, has self-belief and always looks towards the next big deal.

The Adonis is handsome but vain, like his namesake in mythology, while the teddy bear is a good listener without much sex appeal.

He is a world away from the Wayne -- an old-fashioned, quiet and solid type named after the Wild West movie actor, John.

Here's the story. Maybe I have a skewed view of this, being a guy myself, but I've known a hell of a lot of people in my life, a good number of which were men, and I can't even imagine trying to squeeze them all into 27 little groups.

There's only about 3 billion dudes in the world. 27 Categories of them, about 111 million per category. I don't see that happening, especially with all the different cultures in the world

I never put much stock in studies or publications that try to fit people into "classifications."

It's like an online quiz that gives you two options: "Love It" and "Hate It," while leaving out a "Neither" option.

This kind of new-agey touchy feely PC bullshit makes me sick to my stomach.

I really liked this particular sentence in the story, though: "Some of the faces may not seem too attractive," Dr Whitehead told Reuters. Hmm, Dr. Whitehead you say?

Quite my ass! JW was a mans man, but quite the blowhard and swaggard. Clint eastwood wouldnt make a production of it, he'd just aim and fire. biggrin

Stereotypes are the building blocks of all comedy.

I can't wait for all the "Rules" girls to pick up this book. Wait, fuck that noise, I'm going to check this book out myself so I see what awesome label I fit under.
