Is anyone out there anti-facebook? I have a strong stance that it is a social STD. I refuse to create an account. Its hard enough to stay under the radar sometimes. Any thoughts?

I hate social networks. Read about it in my latest SG Blog.

I had a facebook account for about 2 years, then deleted it. Been without for about 6 months and I'm more productive, but in touch with way less people. I'm undecided!

Facebook is the best way for me to stay in touch with family and friends so they won't call me...I hate to talk on the phone. Also; when they have an event and invite me I can click a button to decline without someone trying to guilt trip me into attending. I am not obsessed like some people are but I am not anti Facebook.

Social STD thats awesome. Yeah anti-facebook all the way. I've heard it said that for all this technology that keeps us in touch we've never been more isolated.

If you're concerned about being on the radar you should only have a land line.

I recently deleted my account that I'd had for about 4 years... that said I'm not anti-Facebook I just didn't really use it much and so did see the point in my info being out there.

I use Twitter a lot and I've recently got back into using Tumblr, I like social sites that encourage sharing between people that don't necessarily know each other.

It's annoying at times. But I've found I ignore the crap on there and just pay attention to the people I actually care about.

Seeing as I have friends all around the country, Facebook really helps me keep in touch with them.

I also suffer from no paranoia that requires me to be "off the radar."

I think Facebook is a great tool when it comes to keeping in touch with friends that you don't see as much as you'd like. It's been invaluable for study groups as well and all in all I love it. The way the layout of the site is going I'm not so keep on but other than that.. Yey for Facebook.

What is a hipster to do? Keep facebook, but keep it ironically? Drop facebook, but say you dropped it before it was cool? Re-up your facebook because re-upping will be the next thing? So confusing.

Hating Facebook seems to me like a bigger waste of time than just actually using it.

We keep Facebook for the pleebs, but since our parents are on it now, save the juicy stuff for our tight-knit friends on Path.
