Yeah. It's not that the genius of your work can make beating your wife okay. It's that beating your wife doesn't make your work less good. There's no "pass" being given. You can enjoy Roman Polanski's films and still think the bastard ought to be thrown in jail.
Which brings us back, full cycle, to where we started. It's ok to like Chris Brown as an "artist" (obviously, I don't think he is anyway) and still hate him as a person? Interesting discussion.
That is exactly how I feel about it. It is okay to like Chris Brown's artistic output but still think he's a bad person.
There's afunny song on youtube called club villain or something in which Chris Brown gets kicked out for being a loser ... by the 'so called ' fanmous villains from movies. I guess people should avoid these losers but that's easy to say when I don't watch/listen to most of them. I personally can't stand pedo Woody Allen Allen for marrying his (step)child and don't even talk about Leni Riefenstahl. When people like what you do or make a lot is forgiven. (Also think about the director who now lives in Switserland who raped an under age girl.)
