Hail Bubba Ho-tep, Bruce Cambell returns!!

Just got back from seeing this movie, A true blue Lo-Budget comedy horror that made Brucy famous in the 1st place.
Dont go to this movie if you want a deep plot....or to be scared, the whole premise is quite silly taking tongue and cheek potshots at the classic Mummy style horror movies.
So just wondering if anyone else has een it or knows of its existence and what they thought?

I read about it in Rue Morgue or Fangoria quite a while back. But, there is like nil chance I will get to see it before it hits DVD.
I would love to see it.

Well I dont know why it would be in Fangoria, the only gore is a scene of mummification and even thats a bit underwhelming...but maybe
I am just too desencitised in my old horror movie age.
Yeah I imagine it might be a hard movie to find in theatres, the only theatre Bubba-Hotep was playing in Calgary was at the uptown which is an arthouse theater (of immaculate quality in picking their movies usually).

i saw 'bubba ho-tep' at last year's Florida Film Festival, and both bruce campbell and don coscarelli (director, also made 'phantasm') were there afterwards for an hourlong Q&A. it was awesome.

i've been dying to see this since i saw the preview.. Its not gonna play w/i 100 miles of me.. FUCK.. talked to the my friend in Mass who saw it and said it was great, adding insult to injury.

Gonna have to wait for the DVD seeing as I live in BFE.

I've been wanting to see this ever since it came out last year, and it will not come to theaters around here at all. So I've already pre-ordered a copy from Amazon.

That movie was fucking fantastic! I absolutley loved it! I want a sequel

Any movie where Bruce Campbell pontificates on his johnson is amusing enough for me.

awesome awesome flick. I heard BC is recording 2 commentaries. One with himself and the director and one in charachter as Elvis. that would be worth buying 15 times!

Wow dude ... I don't think you got the movie very well ... The movie is a satire ... watch it again if you can ... or just think about it real hard and maybe you'll get it ... I'm not saying it's the best thing out there ... but you can analyze everything ever made and find out that a half hour episode of Andy Griffith is deep ... and this goes way beyond that ...

Yet another disadvatage of living in a shithole Southern town. This movie will not play anywhere near here. A good friend of mine that lives in Potland saw it and rubbed it in my face about how great it was.

hail to the king, baby!

i got an advance copy from mgm the other day and watched the movie last nite.. its got a good blend of humor and horror. the plot is simple by design but i got the feeling that there's lots of good detail stuff that you can pick up on from repeated viewings like the subtitled hieroglypics. ossie davis would get my vote for president and bc IS the king of rock and roll, growth on his pecker and all.


the DVD will be available towards the end of may.

i cant wait to get the dvd! Bruce is the man.

DVD announced release date is May 25, same day as the theatrical version of Return del King. Start saving them pennies, or plundering.

I've been putting off seeing this for about 6 months now, for some reason. I guess I just assume it will be playing at the Angelika in perpetuity...

I'm waiting for this on DVD.

No one is a bigger Bruce fan than I am.
