The #OWS Jedi returned to DTLA for the third weekend running, and the force was with @OccupyLA with an estimated turnout of 3 to 5K for today's Global Revolution Day march through the city's financial district.
Added benefits to this protesting business: Marching is pretty much the same as hiking, but with more signs + you can walk the dog.
Another four-legged protester. If corporations can claim citizenship, dogs can too! #JustSaying
Protesting is thirsty work though.
The LAPD continues to be lovely...#Shame the same can't be said for the NYPD. In New York today they arrested a group of Citi Bank customers -- for trying to close their accounts -- for realz! Later, 74 protesters were arrested in Times Square. Meanwhile in Denver, riot police broke things up again, and in Chicago they're trying to evict protesters.
In NYC police have also been detaining protesters for violating an obscure law dating back to 1845 which was intended to stop tenant farmers from covering their faces during a peasant uprising (well I guess #OWS really is one of those!). Meanwhile, in London, Julian Assange was asked to remove his mask by police there. Things are going to get really confusing come Halloween. #JustSaying
Fortunately, in LA, protesting is a family affair.
Lovely weather for it too!
Imagine what the world would be like if the rich and corporations paid their fair share.
To clarify: What part of shared sacrifice don't you get?
I hate when people include their kids in political rallies. Whether it be this, or a right to lifers. It just seems wrong having children waving signs.

Yup, incredibly stupid. Bringing them is one thing, but shoving signs in their hands is dumb.

Wonder if the creators of this website are in the 1%, me thinks they are....
WTF?
I am sure Missy Suicide has gotten quite rich off this website....so why the Double U, tee, effe...my friend? The whole OWS is against the 1%ers, is it not? Belonging to this website and paying for it, is supporting the thing you despise...have a nice day, kisses!
I highly doubt the creators of SG are millionaires. Considering the site has been losing money due to the economy and memberships being down because of that, it's hard to think people are "supporting the 1%" for being a member here....

Yeah but you agreed to pay $4-$12 a month to look at the articles. They don't THEN charge you to re-read them. You earn your money you shouldn't have to pay to get your money back.

1% top earners is anything over $250K/Year. Using the internet is supporting the 1%, best way to fight for the cause is to use your dollars, or not in this case. Don't want to support the 1%, don't buy products.

Do you understand the difference between revenue and profit? Because it doesn't sound like you do.

Yes, I use the words net and gross, so yes I know the difference. I have owned a business for 20 years now. How many paying subscriptions does the site have, and add up all the merchandise sold, plus advertising space sold, plus this and that...who knows they might play the stock market as well. Our answer to if Missy is in the 1% lies in the tax returns. I don't know I am only guessing, as the site gets over 5 million views a month...how many of those views are paying customers? Heck if only a 1/4 million are....there is your answer...
I have nothing against people making money. If Missy made $249,999.99 after taxes of course! Is she not one of the evil 1%?
That is only the tip of the iceberg, I am guessing they are members of the top earners, not that is anything wrong with that, way to go for an initial $5000 investment. Hooray for capitalism!!!
Pretty sure this site is owned by persons of that income level...why not boycott this site as well?
Or is this site above that because of who owns it, kinda like Apple can do no wrong... they are worth billions, as the protestors are seen using their iPhones during the demonstrations. I am typing this on a MacBook Air BTW...I have no problem supporting the 1%.
Point is, there is a bit of hypocrisy, why is that? Why are some corporations deemed evil and others are not?
