this was brought up over a night of jack and daniels and shits and giggles. this also proves what happens when you get drunk with a marketing major, a poetry major, and an acting major.

i figure you're a product of your environment... parents, friends and all that for sure... but have you ever started acting +/ taking cues from characters in movies or tv or celebrities in general? figured i'd get some interesting answers.

I don't know exactly who i emulate, it's hard to look at yourself that way...you really need one of your friends to tell you who you emulate...which are usually people who you admire.

No, No one. I have always been a jet flyin' limosine ridin' kiss stealin' wheeling dealin' son of a gun. And whether you like it or don't
like it, learn to love it because it's the best thing going. WHOOOOO!

Vito Corleone, AKA The Godfather

There was a guy I went to college with a few years ago called Brian. He was in his early 30's when I knew him. He was easily one of the most down to earth and straight up people I have ever met and a hard worker. Common sense was his speciality along with a dry wit and a cool head, a sharp intellect and he is the best judge of character I have ever known.

The best way I can describe him is he was a real life version of the godfather as played by Robert De Niro in Part II of the films, without the murdering side of said charactor but they shared a lot of personal traits in my mind anyway.

I havn't done him justice in that description but he is who I would most like to emulate.

I havn't tried to emulate him. Instead I am the irrational, bad tempered, impatient, immature, stubborn and maladjusted person who is typing this message. whatever

As a person I make my self want to puke

I will admit to a certain amount of emualtion. I don't think I have the energy for full-blown impresonation, at all. But I have definitely learned what is "cool" and "uncool" from certain people...namely musicians...

Lou Reed, Tom Verlaine, Nick Cave, Jim Reid, ...classicially cool guys...

Sadly, I'm still working on it...

This would work better if other people told us who we reminded them of, or who they thought we were emulate. Self-image rarely reflects impressions 100%.

I think the majority of people emulate any number of people who have affected them, taught them, or who's work has inspired them...like a big patchwork quilt. Most people, even if unaware, emulate a family member first and foremost.

Someone who emulates one person completely, ie walking around acting like Cristian Slater all day, is generally pretty boring.

My mother. Yep. As far as celebrities...no. At least not on purpose. I'd make fun of someone who emulated a celebrity on purpose because they thought it made them cool.

I don't try to emulate anyone, but a lot of people have told me I remind them of Janeane Garofalo when I really get going. *shrug*
