Has anyone seen it? It looks good. Never heard of it until recently.

Last House on the Left.

Its fairly brutal for the time period it was made in. Older Wes Craven stuff is good, also check out The Hills Have Eyes.

Personally I'm a big fan of Wes Craven so I'm kinda biased... but Last House is an amazing film. Yes it's brutal and yes it looks kinda dated now but it really does pack a punch.

A guy named David A. Szulkin wrote a really good book on the history of the film that I read before ever seeing it as the movie was still banned here in the UK. I eventually got a dutch import DVD and I wasn't disappointed! Of course the movie is now available here (it really shouldn't have been banned anyway!).

But yeah - great film, highly recommended!

I like the fact the dad appears to be wearing a Star Trek shirt.Heh.
It is a brutal film and I doubt he could get away with making such a film today. Bastard censors.

I'm going to date myself. back before Blockbuster there were little mom & pop video rental stores. When they first opened it was movies like these that you could rent because major studios charged so much for videos smile

I find it funny that Wes Craven was high when he filmed this, and he's not ashamed to admit it.
