Homer Simpson is Real

Something I was thinking about a few weeks ago. I really don't think there are any characters who have taken on the amount of realism that the character of Homer Simpson has. Besides being at least slightly based on Matt Groening's real father, he's become one of the most loveable characters despite his incredible stupidity (except, of course, when he's strangling Bart) and he's become quite possibly the most popular character in pop culture. As far as our culture is concerned, he's as much a part of it as any real human being. And he's made more positive contributions to it than most of the bullshit artists we now have for pop culture icons.

Pretty good job for a big yellow headed man. Homer Simpson, I salute you:
